Well, I have never seen anyone with a shape other than a rectangle. Especially with the new rule that 2/3 of the robot must be covered by bumpers. That rules out round robots. But if you can find a way to do this and to maintain a good drive train, more power to you.

I've seen square and round and pictures of octagonal. All are legal.

We definitely have a unique shape for our robot this year. I'll see if the team is ok with putting up some early pictures of our chassis.

Carl Hayden (frc 842, Phoenix AZ) has a very neat chassis this year:

How about a Klein surface robot? No outside means no bumpers required, right? :p

No, it means that since you have nowhere to attach your mandatory bumpers, you cannot play. Thanks for coming, see you next year. :yikes:

We're rectangular this year, but a certain team I know is going slightly more octagonal. (Slightly.)

Here's a picture of our robot's frame early in the build season.
