How long does 3ds max take to load for you?

Just out of curiosity. :D

I'm running 3ds Max 8, it takes aprox. 4 - 6 seconds for me on my new laptop.

How about you?

Its loading all the plugins the first time you are loading the program. Close 3ds max and then load it again and you should see a noticeable decrease in loading time when you boot it again. That is because all the plugins have already been loaded.

I know, you can see the plugins loading on the bottom of the window... and I mean the first time I open it after turning on my computer. When I've had it open recently it opens near instantaneously.

I don't really know how long. It goes by so fast I never decided to time it.

Hah, you should see my school comps. I double click on max then go get pizza from the mall down the road and get back in time to watch it load =P.

Just get 32 GB of RAM and store your programs in RAM. That way you don't have to load programs off the hard drive. Things load much faster
