One of the side effects of having Donn Griffith work for your university is that you hear plenty about that very robot. According to him, it was the robot that year--and after seeing some videos of it in action at KSC, I could see a case being made.

I will be quite interested to see what comes out of Seneca this year.

no... it will be a maxed-out rectangle shape... our goal (at the moment) is to control a ball

I remember that bot well, I was enamored with it. I think it had metal disc omnis, back when metal could touch carpet. In fact, was that bot the beginning of omnis? First I'd seen em... It was a beautiful machine, but then SPAM was just plowing everyone in a corner that year, so nobody stood a chance. :yikes:

haha yeah... SPAM did that well... and that was pretty much the first year that omnis were used... and we claim we are the reason for no metal on the carpet... b/c our robot tore up the carpet pretty well...

I saw the photo of your robot on your web page, it looks nice. Have you guys decided to leave the omnis or is this a practice robot. See you guys saturday at the scrimmage

Yea I remember that robot too, awesome design, the first time I saw it strafe my jaw hit the floor.

no... unfortunatly when we build the eight wheel directional drive... it didn't work... so we went to a six wheel base.

can't wait for the scrimmage!:D
