Am I the only one who has never heard of alliance names? Are these recognized by FIRST in any way whatsoever?

Ahh yes. I'm not actually sure how we came up with this, but I do know once someone did, it stuck--and the sound of "PinkSwampBeast!" could be heard everywhere!

Nationals...oh how I miss thee.:)

The names essentially arise of their own accord when teams with distinctive names come together. For example, Samurai Tornadoes has a nice ring to it, wouldn't you say? They have no official standing at all...but lots of people who were around at the time will recognize names like Division by Chicken.

Sometimes, a collaboration or eliminations alliance chooses a catchy name based on team names. Examples would include the Bionic Poofs collaboration of bygone years and the Triplets for collaboration, and some of the ones mentioned here for elimination alliances.

FIRST does not officially recognize any alliance names.

The thread made it pretty obvious what they are... but thanks for the answer on official-ness.

If 1086 makes it to Champs they could possibly become the Blue Cheesey Poofs for a match.
