What is the name of the other team? That would help.

Re: Good alliance names?

hmm

(name of 1st team) + (name of second team) = name of partnership

example:

(division by zero)+(thunderchickens)=division by chicken...
I forgot which year 229 did this but i do remember thats what it was called...

Ouch... that match brings up painful memories.

Our reaction when we saw the match list-"AWESOME!!!!!!! we're with the ThunderChickens and the T'kats. We're gonna score a million tubes!"

Turned out the inverse was true.

IN 2002 we had the (almost) unstopable force of (my) Team 237 (T.R.I.B.E.), 155 (TechnoNuts), and 173 (R.A.G.E.) who almost won Battlecry that year, and so we became to be known as Tribal-Nutty-Rage.

It was a cool name if I do say so myself...*

*(considering I was the one who came up with it while waiting in the queing line for the finals) :D

Say the word "ThunderKats" to any ThunderChicken or (as far as I know) most TechnoKats, and they will immediately respond with HOOOOHHHHHH (it's been in my sig for a while now). Oh Championship '07, what you could have been.

Las Thunderillas was originally 217 + 469, which branched out to become the Simrillkens (217 + 469 + 1114). The 3 were never actually allianced together, but a lot of us are good friends with each other outside of FIRST. (although I understand there were actually Simrillas shirts made for Atlanta) Edit: I forgot about this gem. Row of 8 with a spoiler and two singlets, IIRC.

And of course, I dream of the day we can form the RoboThunderKats. STL '08, oh pleease.

After alliance selection on Newton in 2007, 190 + 987 + 177 just started calling ourselves The Marroon Alliance. Having the alliance all the same color looks classically classy.

The Henrico Triad (384, 1086 and 540) :( didnt work out to well for us last year so its just Code Blue or Blue Rush (havent decided) (384 and 1086) :)

Whenever we are allied with HOT, 910 always jokes about Freezer Burn. :p

We figure the best would be us, 67, and 217, then we could be the Freezer Burned Chickens.

my team was thinking of naming ourselves 343 Guilty Spark, but we're team 2354 and it's probably copyrighted. But, it might work for you. It doesn't say anything about "blue" though.

probably the most exciting regional match played that year, if not for the whole year including championships.

what about last years championship finalists
PINK+SWAMP+BEAST. now that was an alliance that had a name picked out as soon as alliance selections were over.

Ahh yes. I'm not actually sure how we came up with this, but I do know once someone did, it stuck--and the sound of "PinkSwampBeast!" could be heard everywhere!

The names essentially arise of their own accord when teams with distinctive names come together. For example, Samurai Tornadoes has a nice ring to it, wouldn't you say? They have no official standing at all...but lots of people who were around at the time will recognize names like Division by Chicken.

Sometimes, a collaboration or eliminations alliance chooses a catchy name based on team names. Examples would include the Bionic Poofs collaboration of bygone years and the Triplets for collaboration, and some of the ones mentioned here for elimination alliances.

FIRST does not officially recognize any alliance names.

The thread made it pretty obvious what they are... but thanks for the answer on official-ness.
