Same here. This works great, and very rarely (if ever) left without food for the day.

(Only on very last minute meetings do we ever order out for food, or make a food/coffee run in the middle or whatever we need)

Re: FOOD!

Ha. all sounds so healthy.
We get apple, oranges, trailmix, nuts, cookies, and caffienated beverages. sort of a bipolar mix of snacks. but it's cool that our mentor brings stuff in everyday, since we're working all day (school is in a january interim [spelling?], and our school doesn't have a lunch program worth bothering with. It's a charter school and we get cold boxed lunches left over from other school districts. Bleh. I prefer what our mentor brings in.

My blood pressure has beenn very high so I eat dinner at home (and take my medication) before going to the site.
I have to give up fast food and pizza if I want to be around for future games.

We also have the parents bring in food. Each parent is responsible for two days. They pick the days.
Our programmers are psychic. Our playing field is 3 blocks away but they seem to know when the food arrives :)

We have parents bring in hot meals every night. Sometimes it's just Taco Bell, but other times we get some really nice stuff.

jp, we have good, warm, delicious, tasty food every meeting.

Re: FOOD!

Some of our teachers and mentors bring in food for meetings. Saturday meetings generally involve a heaping helping of Dunkin' Donuts Munchkins (though two weeks ago one of the other mentors had a couple of boxes of Krispy Kremes. Tasty.)

They only give us free food on Saturdays and Sundays, and it's different every weekend. On weeknights, I never have time to eat a real meal. I've been living off of meal bars and random fruit...

Re: FOOD!

We have meals provided by parents as well. And a SUPERMOM who coordinates it all so that the menu is varied and all of the meals are covered. The parents do a great job of making sure there is a balanced meal and vegetarian options!

It really makes our team feel like a family when we all eat together! :)

Re: FOOD!

Our team is community based, so our meeting location is 25 minutes from home. We eat dinner at home and meet at our headquarters about 6:30 each night.
There are always snacks (a mix of salty, healthy, sweet) and assorted drinks.
On Saturdays, we take turns bringing in lunch for the team. Some people help pay for the snacks and drinks, so it all works out.

We've been spoiled this year. Our newest sponsor has arranged food for us the first five Saturdays. So far we've had Qdoba (mexican), Jersey Mike's (subs), and Tropical Smoothie Cafe (wraps and smoothies!).

You are so lucky. When I visited Cali one year and had an IN-N-OUT burger, I fell in love.

Anyways, parents of teammates bring in food. There is also a vending machine that I like to eat out of.

We dont eat anything on the weekdays as we eat before the meetings.

Then on the weekends, mentors bring in munchkins, muffins, coffee. Then we send 2 or 3 kids to get lunch for the whole team (something goes wrong every time we order, last time, I didnt get my lunch :P)
