IR transmitter, which is the best?

For the robocoach, which IR transmitter do you recommend? We would like to buy one from Walmart or Bestbuy and have an extra.

It needs to send continuously once a button is pressed and reasonably strong signal.

I think you will find the IR remotes only send signals while the buttons are pressed. Although, some only send a command once and need to be pressed again to resend the signal.

There is an alternative. Design and build your own. That way, it can operate exactly how you design it.;)

What we want is to press it and hold and it will continue to send the signal while pressed.

We have plans for building our own but I want options incase we run out of time, which is looking more like it all the time.

I think the majority of remote act the way you need, but the only way to know for certain is to test.

As for running out of time, Man can I relate!
