He just came up with that in his head:eek:, that's amazing! I thought he came up with that in advance when I heard that. He must have an amazing memory to remember all of that.

Dave is a walking FIRST data base. He has an amazing memory, which makes him so awesome. I always look forward to seeing what he will come up with next.:)

He said that he had jotted some notes on a napkin. What can I say? There's a reason HOT nominated him for WFA years ago...

What he told us in our post regional meeting was that the idea came to him on his way home from the West Michigan Regional. He spent Monday thinking about how he would do it. He jotted down notes for each regional that the GLR team had attended. Gathered information about team names, locations, etc.. , then mapped a general path of the 'perfect storm'.

He passed around his notes for us to see, but he does not have a final version of the speech. :yikes: From looking at the notes, I am still not sure how he did it.

Dave, you are AMAZING.

Other than the facts that he had no idea what I was talking about and that he doesn't really check out CD that often, with his unlimited knowledge of all the teams in FIRST, I really had a strong suspicion that Dave Verbrugge was "Looking Forward". But, he told me it was not true ;)

I am also amazed that it was all done by an 8th grader (not that age matters though), he must have tons of experience to be able to write something like that. You guys were also an amazing team who should made it higher than the QF's and we only wished here at Rochester that we could have versed you in the finals (any of them). Good luck next year (or at any events sooner)! :D

Thank you. I was disappointed that we weren't able to play with you guys. There's always next year, maybe we'll even be on the same alliance. :yikes:

That would be cool if we could, especially if we get into the finals with us both on the same alliance. Sort of like the Rochester United teams, but with robotics...

It also stinks that you had to be up against rush in both QFs. They are a really good team with a good robot.

Also say hi to Sidd for me...

A NAPKIN!?! That is true skill right there. He deserved the WFA when he won it in 2002.

They had battery problems in the final two matches. Even with that problem the alliance still had a great performance within those two matches.

We had radio problems the in semi's and in the second round of the finals. The cable got ripped out of the radio and IFI said they didn't have a spair during qualifing so we glued it back in and made a bracket to hold it in, but that wasn't 100%. After it happened twice in eleminations IFI found a new one for us.

Well that's a good thing that it held up, you guys did amazing. Especially your hybrid mode, it was the best thing I have ever seen. How did you program it?

We are using a encoders on the wheels (6 wheel drive) with an RC Helicopter heading hold gyro to do corrections. We then just go thought about a 30 step routine to make turns and straightaways. We use the remote to get to balls off.

Just curious, how'd you know I was an 8th grader? When you first posted this, I was sure that my brother told you.
