Dashboard

Hi Everybody,

I was trying to do some debugging with our robot today and attempted to use the dashboard to get some values. To my surprise, I couldn't find the jumper used to set whether you look at RC or OI data and when I tried using the IFI dashboard, it just prompted to change the jumper. Does anyone know if they discontinued dashboard or something this year? I checked IFI's site to see if they had an updated version but the only one I found was dated for 2005.

Anyone know whats going on?

Re: Dashboard

Don't use thoose "View OI Data" or "View RC Data" they don't work as the dashboard port is one-way.

To switch between the RC and OI output, move the jumper next to the Dasboard port on the OI.

Re: Dashboard

I would suggest looking for the jumper again. It is very, very small, and the use of tweezers or forceps is required to remove the jumper. As far as I know, the Dashboard program is still vaild, but some people use the National Instruments dashboard instead.
The jumper is located between the bashboard port and port 1, I do believe. Once again, it is very small, and you will need tweezers or something similar to remove the jumper.

Re: Dashboard

Moving that jumper every time you want to switch between data streams is devilishly inconvenient. We wired up a SPDT switch to a servo connector (i.e. the female end of a PWM cable) plugged on to the dashboard pins so we can just flip the switch back and forth.

That switch has been incorporated into our Operator Console for the past few years. It's very convenient.
