Inventor 2008 file open in Inventor 7?
 

Is it possible to open a 2008 inventor file in inventor 7? So far I get an error message saying the lockfile can't be created and the database schema is newer than the version of inventor

Inventor 2008 files cannot be opened in Inventor 7, but Inventor 7 files can be opened in 2008.

You can get a file from 2008 to 7 by using Inventor 2008 to save as a STEP file (.stp) and then use Inventor 7 to open the .stp file and save it back into Inventor format.
