burned IR sensor..

Hello guys ...
we wired the sensor to frc controller ( pwm output ) as a power supply ..
which supplies 7.2v..... i worked for few days .. then it stoped functioning .. i think we fried it :D ..
my question is : do the pwm outputs supply a larger value of current which the sensor con not accept ?
or there is another error occured ?????

i read this :

Re: burned IR sensor..

Read the thread "Dead IR receiver Module". See if those symptoms are the same.

Did you recharge the backup battery? That's the source of the 7.2 volts on the PWM pins.

Re: burned IR sensor..

Mohamed,
The IR sensor is intended to be connected to the +12 volt power through a 20 amp circuit breaker. The power from a PWM output is right at the minimum operating voltage for the sensor board. (7-12 volts as stated in the documentation.)
