What r ur robot weights as of right now
usually in the past we have had major weight problems but we 95% done with the structure part of the robot and we only wiegh 76.57 lbs.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
Team 401's weight estimate is around 112 pounds at the moment.
Have a good last week + 0.5 of build season! |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
Our robot-in-progress got set on the scale yesterday, along with a pile of parts yet to be mounted to it. There were still some motors, pneumatic components, and a bunch of wiring not accounted for.
It came to about 115 pounds. Then I walked up and took out the battery, and everyone relaxed some. |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
we need to at our ir board, laxsand to cover everything, puematic tubing, and thats pretty much it after all that we estimated it will be around 90-100 lbs without the batter and bumpers. adding that we will be around 100-130 for competition. we're light but very quick.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
we are 99.9% done adding junk onto the robot and weigh in at 115 lbs. At first we had our annual scare by weighing it with the battery in and were over weight...but then we noticed the battery and a couple of clamps.
For Aim High we made a beautiful robust design and put it all together with a week to spare and weighed our robot at 175 lbs! Doh! By ship date we had gutted so much of the robot that we didn't have much function left. Lessons learned! |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
We're at about 85-90lbs now, but we're going to add counter balence before we're done.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
This year, we weighed in at about 80-90 lbs w/all the parts, but we WILL weigh the 120 one way or another. In 06, we were .05 lbs underweight and last year wasn't much different.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
How much does the robot weigh? that's a good question! but today we should have most of it together, and we'll find out. Estimates put it at about 100, we'll see what happens.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
we have 90% of our robot built and our weight is only 85.2lbs. We have ad weight issues before but now we are suprisingly underweight.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
Hmm, we have estimates and some sub-assembly weights (+/- 0.5lb error per sub-assembly)
Drive Train: 41.5lbs (actual) Electronics: 8.5lbs (actual) Pneumatics: 20lbs (calc/estimated) Lift: 18.5lbs (actual) Manipulator: 8lbs (estimated) Estimated extra powder coating: 5lbs Total: 103 lbs +10% weight buffer since estimations are always wrong: 113lbs. |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
Hopefully around 70-100ish. We are trying to minimize weight...less weight, more speed.:)
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
Last year at a regional we were six pounds overweight. The inspector told us it was time to amputation. But we dropped the six pounds by drilling hundreds of holes in lexan and dropped the six pounds in a matter of hours.
And this year we are right at 120 lbs (if not over). |

Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
95 lbs. without shielding. The lexan and steel should top the bot out at 110 lbs.

We weighed in at about 95 pounds last week. Everything that had been built to date, plus some raw material to estimate the remaining parts. We've since added pneumatics (and removed a motor or two) and a few other parts, and need to add a few pinch guards. We estimate we should come in 110-120. |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
something like 75lbs as of now... but we aren't done yet:D
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
our robot (team 2428) weighed in at 95 pounds when we put it on the scale yesterday.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
were done and we are about 98lbs with bumpers
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
The Solidworks model says we're 115.57 lbs...
...with an 8 lbs. ball model ...and a 14 lbs. battery model. The actual robot isn't quite up to speed with the CAD model, but it's close. |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
1923 weighs in at 107 right now.
:) |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
we weigh 113.7 without any lightening efforts.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
Our bot is getting close to completion and weighs in at around 76 lbs. :ahh:
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
We weigh in at 102 right now with a couple of air cylinders and protection covers left to mount. Should be around 112 when finished. Team 1249, The RoboRats
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
we are 95% done and weigh 101 lbs. which is awesome! our first bot ended up weighing 150lbs it sucked lol
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
we're 123:yikes: But we are still phasing out heavier prototype parts:cool:
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
We're at 108 with a complete manipulator (well, the manipulator isn't actually complete, but we piled the remaining parts on the robot for weighing), the compressor, and a complete drive system. We have yet to add the electricals (should go on on Saturday), all the pneumatic fittings (the tanks were piled on for weighing though), and polycarbonate armor.
I think we'll be close to 120, but our robot hasn't had much weight reduction done to it yet. For example, our chain tensioners weigh 1lb a piece, which could be significantly reduced. I also calculated that we could loose a couple of pounds through some light swiss cheesing of the Toughbox's 50T gears. The first chain reduction on the arm could also be cheesed a bit (I'd a bit squeamish of speed-holing the final reduction though... there is a lot of torque going through that sucker). Beyond that, there are always the old tricks: speed-hole the arm, replace bolts with rivets, and so on. |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
We weigh 99 lbs w/ the bumpers!! We are actually going to add weight for stability.

How do you weigh your robots? We didn't even know our weight last year until competition, which we found out that it was within our class limit.

Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
We weigh in at around 90 pounds pre-Lexan. We haven't weighed in our "special attachment" yet either. It probably weighs about 5-6 pounds tops though. Were good.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
98 pounds.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
we must be the light weights at 60-65 which includes pnuematics, drive, and electrical. We still have to add some supports and a flag holder:eek: but that will add a max of 10lbs. and we still need to figure out how to attach our bumpers:mad:
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
we are at 90lbs, and trying to gain weight ;)

It also works well for our 105 lb robot as of tonight. We have about 16 pounds more to add, including the code- all that code can get heavy! With hardware reduction, we might just make it. Now if it will actually work :ahh: |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
well we weighed tonight and we are 127 lbs without a "skin" on it. it's going to be an interesting last week...

Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
Inventor says 118 lbs with everything on it, the robot is still in pieces/components, so once assembled (by the end of Saturday) we will find out for sure. We are cutting it close.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
95% done and it weighs 68 lb . . . we think it will weigh . . 78-80 by th time we are done.
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
110. that is without our finishing covering and what not and the ball knocking down device.
dont you just love cheeseholes? we have a cake thats about a foot in diameter and 6 inches deep of our shavings from our cheeseholed 1x3" 54" long tiers. took off about 3-4 pounds :D -Vivek EDIT: hmm... we do keep the robot in the same room as the snacks... and all of our cheez-its seem to be disappearing at an alarming rate... the robot keeps gaining weight and the food keeps disappearing... I wonder... |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
I think a couple of days ago we weighed everything, and added 10 pounds for electronics/wires. If I remember correctly, it was 84 pounds:ahh:
we've never had a robot this light... most years we have to apply the swiss cheese diet. Maybe we'll put in more structural support? who can tell. |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
weight?!?! what?!...................:yikes:   .
yea, we should do that. |
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
as of 10 PM Last Night we were at 108.5 we have couple more things to add that will add another 5 pounds. .
|
Re: What r ur robot weights as of right now
we currently weight 73.5 pounds , thats not a finished bot it has
P-Board * tanks * Compresser , and a main pressure gauge E- Board - everything Frame Wheels Motors Gearboxes |
