we read the rules and understood that tractions are illegal but since then almost every robot is "wearing" tractions... are they legal??
another question, im from israel and have no way of checking it without ordering it from the states.. are they recomended? what advantages do they have??
thanks alot!!!

Re: ARE TRACTION WHEELS LEGAL???

If you mean the andymark or the ifirobotics tractionwheels are legal, many teams use them or the treads.

Where in the manual do you see a rule that says that? Answer: you are probably mis-interpreting the rule about nothing that can damage the carpet. Traction wheels are legal and have never been illegal (other than certain types--like anything with metal contacting the carpet).

Recommendation: use them if you can; they can increase traction, which can increase controllability. Definitely a good thing.
