IR Board? Both wires or just one?

We were wiring our IR board, when we realized that it said 1 OR 2 goes to positive, and 3 OR 4 for negatives. Then, we saw some other teams using the IR board using BOTH 1 AND 2 for positive, and both 3 AND 4 were in the negative.

My team would just like to know which works, and we don't want to fry our board!

Both pins 1 and 2 can be positive, and both 3 and 4 can be negative.

Re: IR Board? Both wires or just one?

Just another question, can we have our own battery for our IR Board? as it says in the rules only 7.2 volts and 12 volts are allowed on robot and that's the regular battery and the backup battery. In the video, it says we should use our own battery from 7 to 15 volts. Can we have another battery in addition to the backup, and regular battery, or do we have to wire it to the regular circuitry.

If we have to power it from the regular system, how do we do it?

Basically It Does Not Matter... We Hooked Both Up To Make It Neat.

You are able to wire the IR board directly to the breaker panel, just put it on a 20 amp fuse. The board accepts 7-15 volts so you can use the main battery. I wouldnt use the backup battery because it will drain really fast. We just did this today and it works just fine.
