If you had used the electromagnet to build an electric solenoid, then it would have been illegal, since the only permitted actuators are the included motors and the pneumatics.
However, in your design the electromagnet is not performing any actuation: from what it looks like, the electromagnet is only used to attach to the launcher so the motors can winch it down. The motors are performing the actual actuation, while the electromagnet only serves as a clasp. Thus the electromagnet (and the design overall) should be perfectly legal, so long as the various safety rules are not violated. |
