Nice machine guys, I'm sure it's going to rock out a nice hybrid mode too. Does it function the same as 121?

Nice bot! Same colors as last year...

What motor is powering the arm?

It looks really cool! I am jealous of your design. If it hurdles as well as 121 showed us it could, I'm seeing this type of bot as a powerhouse.

I'm curious how influenced you were by 121's design?

Looks great, the color scheme is very nice ( not like any walrus or pig I've ever seen ;-) ).

Good Luck This Year

Thanks for the compliments guys, what you see here is almost done just a few add ons such as a ball knocker for hybrid period and also noticed a need for gas strut on the arm while driving it today.

Should answer most of the other questions, I think.

This is an incredible robot! It is so clean and it seems every ounce has been well thought out and taken care of. Great job! How fast does it go? How fast can it lift?
Oink Oink!

Umm about 15 fps in high and maybe 7 in low? It lifts the ball around in about 2-3 seconds I'd guess.

Wow.... Simply amazing, I like the subtle influences some teams seem to have had on it.

A beautiful design! Love the integrated transmissions and the simplicity of the arm design!

Congrats to your entire team!!

does the globe motor on your roller claw backdrive at all when you have the ball sucked in? that was a problem we had with it when we tested ours.

other than that, your bot looks awesome!

I am not on the hardware team and was not with them on the design, but we did see 121 video before we built ours and were amazed by 121's design. We were already going that direction but I am sure 121's video did influence what the hardware team did if nothing else confirm the direction we were going.

I commend 121 for releasing the video so early. May ours work as well as theirs.

Re: pic: Team 1902- Exploding Bacon 2008 Robot

It is a very nice machine! Great job.

One concern that sticks out at me is the pointy ends on the claw, and the one square inch rule...you might want to think about ways to blunt the four points. One way to do this might be to move the last spacer out to the very end, or add another spacer out there.

"<R04> Protrusions from the ROBOT shall not pose hazards to GAME PIECES, team members or event staff. If, in the judgment of the inspectors or referees, a device on the ROBOT poses a hazard (particularly puncture or impalement hazards), the team will be required to remedy the situation before the ROBOT will be allowed to play. If the ROBOT includes protrusions that form the “leading edge” of the ROBOT as it drives, and are less than one square inch in surface area, it will invite detailed inspection. For example, forklifts, lifting arms, grapplers. etc. may be carefully inspected for these hazards.

Note that robot inspectors will be looking for sharp corners and edges that could cause injury, pinch points, entanglement hazards, and impaling projections. Please mitigate all such hazards. This is for the protection of team members as well as game equipment."

Looks really good guys...I look forward to seeing it in action!

How do you plan on knocking down the ball?
