OI Cable Type

Hey guys,

I was wondering if anyone knew what type or where to get a cable that could be plugged into the OI to hook up custom buttons and switched. I know how to do it I just don't know where to get the cable. I am using both of the joysticks from this years KOP and I don't want to take the cables of previous years controllers.

Any ideas?

What is everyone else doing?

Thanks,
Matthew

That is a standard 15 Pin D-sub connector.

Any electronics part supplier (mouser, jameco, digikey) will carry them and they come in many different wire connection styles (crimp wires into pins, solder cups, a clamp onto ribbon cable, connectors with wires already attached, etc..). It can be kind of overwhelming in terms of quantity of options, but any 15 pin d-sub will fit. The most universal (although not my favorite) is just plain solder cups.

Any idea about who would cary them locally in a large city. Im in Los Angeles/ Hills Area of Southern. California.

Some of the name brand stores I can get to eassily are radio shack, bestbuy, fryes, auto zone, pet boys, its late but I think that covers it fir the most part. I wanted to do the OI tomorow...well today noe as in Monday so I was hoping to pick them up local.

Any ideas for local places to grab it would be great but the name helps, 15 pin d-sub right? (I think thats what you said)

Lucky! Fry's has *everything*. We don't have the fortune of having one in Florida, but every one I've gone to on vacation carries oddball connectors and small parts; much moreso than radioshack. I have a hard time imagining them not having it (although radioshack should too).
