You must be having a whale of a time...

Doing some more thinking about the fourth hint, the eye could also belong to a whale.
The coordinates are pretty close to Sea World. Circus train has animals, also pointing to whales... or elephants.

Whales have a big bite ("Chomp" and clue 2).

Big Robot, Big Bite?
Whale riders?

Go Fish?

You've even guessed the name of our robot.

For her hard work and dedication, Cynette receives her very own limited edition 2008 CyberCards team shirt: HIPPOS ROCK! as well as a 1529 button and her very own Hungry Hungry Hippos game.

To explain the hints:
Directly translated, "hippopotamus" means river horse. A synonym for river is watercourse; a synonym for horse is charger. I merely translated "watercourse charger" to dutch.

Homer's pretty self-explanatory. He's the green hippo in the game, and the namesake of our robot (although our bot won't be green, we figured that's MOE's area).

The highlighted portion of the brain cross-section is the hippocampus.

It's a hippopotamus eye, not whale or elephant.

The coordinates triangulate the hippopotamus paddock at the San Diego Zoo.

Circus train with many animals, but who's putting the vehicle into Overdrive? Our favorite mammal!

Stay tuned; 1529 has much more EXCITING information to come, including a unique response to Mr. Kamen's homework assignment to be unveiled at Indiana Engineering and Technology Day at the Statehouse (Monday, February 25).

Once again, congratulations to Cynette the Sleuth for her detective work. Great job!

Cynette: send me a PM with the address where you'd like your prizes mailed, as well as your shirt size.

Yay oh yay oh yay! :yikes:

And the funny thing for all of you sleuths, is that I had looked at all of the clues without trying hard, but as soon as I saw the hippo on the circus train and thought of CHOMP I thought "Hungry Hungry Hippos!" Gut instinct reigns supreme!

But then I spent some time to make sure the clues fit. But my rational was slightly different on a few.

Week 1 - My translation said "Water of course charger" so I went with the charger as another word for horse and the "of course" was "a horse is a horse of course, of course..." :D (I'm definitely dating myself with that phrase!) So I had "Water Horse, of course" = a Hippo!

Week 2 - Homer! I just pictured him saying "hungry...." and there was an episode titled "Hungry, Hungry Homer!"

Week 3 - the hippocampus was easy after that!

Week 4 - the eye - could be any eye! But a hippo's eye is a protruding eye! and they have weird tears! Ah, the stuff you will learn because of CD!

Week 5 - And the coordinates - yep, the San Diego Zoo! And thanks to Google Earth, I could get close enough to see the Hippo Enclosure which looks exactly the same if you go to the Zoo's web site and call up the map of the zoo!

Great Game Team 1529!
