Compiling Robot code...
Hello. Can the robot's code be compiled, and then the resulting complied file be transferred to a system with a serial port to then be transferred to the RC?

Re: Compiling Robot code...
Sure. Are you using easyC or MPLAB? When you compile with either, the compiler creates a .HEX file--you may need to change your Windows settings to see the extension--that can be transfered to a flash drive onto another pc; run IFI loader on that PC and use it to transfer the code onto the robot.
Why not install the compiler on the PC with the serial port? thumbdriving it over seems like a massive pain... Or buy a USB to Serial converter. They can be had for less than $50 if you know where to look; most of the newer ones don't cause problems like the older ones did. JBot |

Thanks for your reply...unortunately, not only is it late in the build to get a USB to Serial converter (6th week - CRUNCH time), but we also don't have a MPLab license to go on the other computer...Again, thanks for the info.
