nice electronics box. how much does that thigh weigh, and what are you using for your "easy-disconnect"?

Firstly, "caps lock is not cruise control for cool"
Second, I'm skeptical about how effective that design will be once you actually have all your PWMs, relays, and sensors wired. In order to maintain the slide-out ability, it seems to me you'll need a whole mess of long wires connecting everything, resulting in a very messy setup which will be quite a bother to debug. And won't you still have to unscrew every motor wire and unplug every sensor and relay to remove that box? Cheers, James |
Re: pic: TEAM 379 ELECTRONICS TEASER, THE ROBOCATS
The box and contents weighs just under 10 pounds. The wires/pwm's coming from the controller run back and fold open with the "lid" and meet the rest of the wires which run through channels (no mess). The idea of it being able to disconnect is a necessity due to the design of the robot. It's more for ease of a quick fix than anything else. On the robot the wires coming from the motors/sensors all meet plugs which allow us to disconnect there. The team wasn't able to meet today because of the bad weather so this box was worked on by a student at home. He was so proud of his work he decided to explain in caps, I would . . . Go Caine!

those lights will have to be removed, other then the official lights and such, those are illegal. even worse being green because cmucam is default green :/

Nice creative design, I like the way you mounted items upside down. Very clever.

Ooo! I like the "Borg lighting" trend I've been seeing for electronics. :D Nice work!
