Team 330's lathe in action

The BeachBots have a new lathe. Check it out in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GwDFD-TjDFU

Yikes. Gloves while belt sanding. Might want to reconsider that.

When in absence of a lathe (which is rare), I like to use a drill press or even cordless drill.

But yes, a lot can be done with basic tools. Nice work.

3 shafts turned down to 1/4" on one end....

I'm guessing two for attaching endless pots via surgical tubing and drive, and the 3rd for the arm...

We know Beach'Bot tricks too well...

Last year, one of the mentors who was in a machine shop class at El Camino College did those on a lathe. 30 minutes, two parts, no tired mentor.:D
