Programing Robot Feedback

Hello all
I have be having problems programing the robot to feedback information to the operator interface.
We are running a compressor on our robot and it starts run to keep the pressure but to have our forks to work properly we have to have the tanks be a full pressure.
So can any one give me the help with program that function in to our program to tell us when our compressor in running

Switch3_LED = relay8_fwd;

will light the bottom LED on the OI when the compressor is running.
