Robot Configuration

Our robot has a 36 inch width and a 26 inch width. Will FIRST disqualify it for being out of normal size configuration or driving "backwards" during a turn. Maybe we'll have to start sideways or something. As long as it fits within the 28 x 38 dimensions will it be acceptable???

I don't understand the question. Are you saying it is wider than long, and is this a problem? If that's the question, then no, it is OK.

Yes it is wider than it is long. And thanks for your quick reply.

As long as you fit inside the starting configuration of 28x38x60, then it doesn't matter what drive configuration you have. You can be wider than you are long, which it sounds like you are.

Re: Robot Configuration

The rule is such that as long as your robot fits in a hypothetical 60" tall box, whose side dimensions are 28 and 38", it does not matter which dimension starts facing 'forward'.
