IFI Controller Channels - NEED HELP

We were setting up for the Rochester Rally this weekend, and printed out the controller information so that we can have teams change the channels when they get to the player stations when we noticed that the OI manual said:

Quote:

Do not use Channel 31 and 40 at the same time with the 2007 or newer radio modems, interference between these channels can cause intermittent radio communications.
But this only leaves channels 01 04 13 22 and (31 OR 40), only enough for 5 robots to run at a time. How do we make this work??

Notice the "can" in that sentence, it usually isn't a problem.

Nevermind... we just got a hold of IFI... and apparently there is nothing we can do about it. Can anyone say 2 on 3???

For future reference, at the Southern California Pre-ship Scrimmage we were able to scrounge up two sets of older radio modems for those channels. It seemed to work OK. We just had to make sure the robots were wearing our modems not the teams.

All the same I'm hoping this is dealt with by whatever new system we are going to. Channel management is a pain all the way around.
