Anything special needed for servo programming?

Greetings!

We are trying to get the servos in our transmission working. Outputting on pwm12 to the servo does absolutely nothing to the servo. Is there something extra needed in the code to make the servos respond? An external power supply?

Thanks!

The backup battery supplies the power

But wouldn't the big ol SLA battery supply power even if there is no backup battery? The speed controllers work fine. If I were to plug the servo PWM into the normal port for a speed controller, shouldn't it work fine? Because it doesn't. :-[

No. For whatever reason, the backup battery is the only thing that can power a servo. Possibly because the servos are designed to work with a 7.2V or so battery.

In '05, 330 had a wedge on the back that was servo-dropped. That wedge didn't work if there wasn't a backup battery.

Plug the backup battery in. I think you'll find it works.
