Um, wow! That is a very impressive suction device, with a pneumatic kicker to boot! Of the one design I didn't think had a chance of working, you guys pulled it off amazingly. Congratulations on a fantastic design. Hopefully I (and the rest of the world) will get a chance to see your robot in Atlanta!

What does it do?

Sucks and kicks balls.

If you watch the video we almost kicked the ball over the opposing team's operator station :P.

Thanks everyone. Yes we do in fact suck and shoot balls with the funnel. We hold the balls with 350lbs of force and we can easily clear the overpass while shooting. Also once we program the pickup point we can acquire the ball instantaneously just by touching it.

Im very proud of everyone that worked on this and hopefully we will get a chanc ot show everyone at atlanta.

This is probably one of the most impressive robots I've seen posted. I was a sceptic until I saw the video.

I think a lot of people didn't believe that a vacuum could work so well but we have a new mentor this year who is a pneumatics engineer who led the team in this pursuit. Without him this idea wouldn't have been possible. It definitely took some trial and error though.

Wow! That's beautiful! That robot is elegant in form and function! I would be suprised if you didn't get an engineering award for that! How many hurdles can you get in a given match? Do you find it hard to get the ball into the sucker? Seriously, hats off to you guys!

Are those the BB motors, or the FP's in your vaccuum generator?

That's amazing!
& the song completely fits the video & the effects.
Nice job:yikes:

We are using 2 fisher price motors in the vacuum. Also when the arm is lined up right which it will be as soon as we program the pot, acquiring the ball is instantaneous. The amount of suction we have is a bit ridiculous

me like:) dont you think you should worry if the ball shoots over the oposing teams side:confused:

Re: pic: 1771 finished

Haha thats kinda funny that you mention that. In the video you can kinda see where the ball almost bounced over and someone had to knock it back in. I think if we shoot at full speed and at the perfect angle we could potentially clear the driver station but thats not really our goal although it would look super cool.
