174 gets off the floor

From the 174 website, watch the robot get itself back up from the floor, not without its share of slips.

Is there a reason that you need the arm to go backwards? Wouldnt it be a convenience to put a stop of some sort to avoid that?

Actually, I can think of two or three reasons for an arm to go backwards. Hurdling/crossing speed, self-righting, and one other reason. Why limit yourself, unless the 80" rule is violated?

it's a good point...how long are you when you're fully over like that? and how tippy is your robot in general?

I wish I knew, but I don't get to visit 174 as often as I use to.

All I can say is that we have a really vast history of balling on backs.

That looks like its really easy to tip. Maybe you should put some weight in the front

Cool Stuff!

Will you normally operate your arm behind the robot? If so, Why?

I like you're robot's ability to stand back up if it falls forward or back. Is it stable side to side?

Yeah, I would agree that it looks very easy to tip, and might violate the 80" rule when tipped; however, nice video. Not sure it'll do you a whole lot of good... but its still a nice ability. Good luck guys!
