wow.. the views went from 8 to 72 in the span it took me to watch the video.

Looks nice!

What kind of speed does it have? After it launches the ball, it stops fast enough to start tipping a little.

Nice addition to knock off the ball too. Overall great job this year.

I have to say, that iv'e been waiting for more.
I know i haveseen nothin yet, but please, 25 members, correct me if i'm wrong.

Do you have to push the ball against a wall in order to pick it up?

(that's the only con i see by the way)

pros:
shoots from up high - hard to block.
cool all in 1 action to hurdle.
CAN PLACE BALL ON OVERPASS!!!OMG!!!

Nice hurdle on the move and placing the ball.
Can't wait to see it at Atlanta.

Re: Team 25 2008 Unveiling

Is that really how it picks up the ball? By ramming it into the wall? Hmmm.... I'm not sure that's the best idea but we shall see...

As for the hurdling part. AWESOME! :yikes: That's pretty flippin fast!

Re: Team 25 2008 Unveiling

Hurdling ability: 10+/10. Very fast, very powerful.
Acquiring ability: 7/10. Hoping that the real deal is a little better than the prototype at acquiring the trackball quickly. The scooper arm will help a little.
Placing: 9/10. A little on the slow side apparently.

Overall: Solid 9.5/10, if not 10/10.

It looks awesome guys :) :)

Re: Team 25 2008 Unveiling

It shoots really high too. You generally won't have another trackball on top of the overpass to go over.

Does the robot have to stop while it shoots the ball, or was that just for effect?

I love the hurdling arm and the ball knocker. They look nicely designed and machined as well. Can't wait to see it:D

Nice robot once again!!! We'll have to see how it performs in NJ though. Lol your '06 bot is still my favorite robot ever.

I like the way they pick up the ball. It doesn't require a person to time when to close a gripper. It is also nice and simple not requiring any extra motors. I thought about a grabbing mechanism that would need to use a wall kinda of like theirs, but never really pushed it or just didn't bring it up.

I kinda got it right

Re: Team 25 2008 Unveiling

Awesome lifter/launcher. The only thing I question is how well does it pick up? All you showed was the prototype picking. Besides that, another amazing bot. Good luck, we'll be watching.
