[TBA]: Parsing New Hampshire Footage

Kyle Fenton from team 121 graciously recorded the New Hampshire regional for all of us and uploaded the raw footage to SOAP, I'm willing to parse some of the video. I'm starting on file CD1_1, and i'll be outputting at 320X240 (what it was recorded at), h.264 1024kbits/s video and mono (mono input) audio.

If anyone is willing to help out you can just use Windows Movie Maker to cut it up into .wmv files.

I'll be uploading them as I go along, and update if i move on to one of the other files.

I got through all the video Kyle has posted on SOAP so far, but it looks like my University's internet connection is attacking my connection and slowing it down (apparently they don't like FTP uploads...), if you guys have any tips on how to get arround that i'm all ears.

A lot of universities have bandwidth limits.

Mine (WPI) limits the user to 4 Gb/day of Internet bandwidth, excluding any local campus network traffic.

If they are slowing your connection down then wait a few days and try again to stay under the bandwidth limits, or go find some free Wifi hotspot and use their Internet.

EDIT: Did you cut and transcode the video from Kyle, or is it just cut into the matches? I can help parse the video into h.264 if it has not been encoded into that already.

I've posted the first 12 quals.

I'd encourage you to work backwards from the finals instead of starting at Q1. This way we get the more exciting matches online first, and if we run out of time, we'll have the elims instead of the qualifications.

I updated all the file names on the SOAP server for the nh files, i'm going to dl all that footage and convert it to h.264. When I cut up the footage I first converted the raw footage to h.264, then cut it up with iMovie and outputed as h.264.

Greg,
Is there any chance to turn on SSL encryption on your FTP, b/c it looks like my university is slowing my FTP packets intentionally and maybe using SSL will fool them and speed up my uploads faster then 4 kb/s.

I'll look into something. That is annoying that they are capping it :(

Greg you said that there was more footage from NH, I only got the first 3 files which only had the first 13 matches on it. Where is the rest of the footage found??

I think Kyle Fenton has it, as he's been posting more edited videos. You should ping him to find out more.
