That would be kinda cool to see 330 become a consecutive regional champ like 254 does up at the Silicon Valley Regional. With the robot Beachbots have this year, it isn't too hard to imagine that 330 could pull it off.

They are--L.A. 2001-2002. Still working on San Diego...We'll see in a couple of days. (Also, 4 regional wins and 3 regional finals in L.A., with 2003 the only year they didn't make the finals, but they were in the eliminations.)

During the first day of matches at the Finger Lakes regional today, few teams were really dominant.
Team 67 did really well with their robot.
Team 20 was up there, as were 378 and 365.
229 didn't have a manipulator attached to their robot Thursday, they put it on early today but took it off before the end. They did pretty badly without it, and are 2 & 7 right now.
2228 was also not performing up to predictions, with problems with hybrid mode causing them to accrue penalties. They were 2 & 7.
Both Sparx and the X-cats did very well today, both were 7 & 2.
Also, 340 was 3 & 6 while 424 was 6 & 3. I was a bit surprised by that.

I'll fill in some of the gap.

After 8 teams from Oklahoma were in Kansas City last year, Team 476 is the only one that opted to attend both the OKC Regional and the KSC regional.

Check That sentence. Apology to Team 2004 who is in attendance at the KSC Regional, and was also their last year. Also, there were 5 teams that attended from Oklahoma in 2007. This year it is 476, 2004, 2376, and 2385.

From what i was told, 229 was having trouble with the motor getting their arm up and over. Im really excited to see what the top 4 teams will do with picking aswell. I have a feeling its gonna be a shock to who they end up picking

who ever you are... i think you should reconsider all your thoughts...

FLR is way off from what you have.

I watch VCU for awhile today and that was probably one of the most boring regionals I've seen. Arizona and Kentucky were pretty good, but week 2 defiantly slowed down.

2cents out the way. You can yell at me now.

I didn't watch enough to comment about VCU, but I do know that it's Kansas City, not Kentucky... :D

Re: Predictions Week 2: Slamming on the Brakes

Quick update after Friday:
Both 1730 and 935 are 4-1 and in the top 5 in KC. 2334 is the only undefeated left in Missouri this weekend (5-0, currently #2). 1996 is 5-1 and currently #1.
987 is slaying in SD, with an astounding 8-0 record and the top score (120) and top ranking. 968 is the only other undefeated, 6-0-1 as the #2. 330, 610, and 1717 are all currently above .500 as well.
Even though I put a ton of confidence in 229, they are struggling. 2228 is also having some trouble. 67, 1126, and 365 are all in the Top 8, and 68 is sitting just on the outside as #9.
1731 may only be 4-2 and #14 in VCU, they are the best team in the field and my favorite to win tomorrow if they can avoid being paired with current #1 seed 1793. 1086 is #2 and their twin 384 is right beneath them at the 3rd seed. Both teams stand poise to make a run at the championship if 1793 mucks up the alliances enough. 1610 and 359 aren't hurdling well but both sit with only one loss each, in the top 9. 1655 is easily the best racer, and could have a huge impact on the eliminations if in the right alliance.
39 is 6-0 and #2 in Arizona, with 60 tagging close behind (5-1, #4). 1726 is fairing well at 4-2, but 125 is struggling at 1-5 and is in the bottom four teams.

968 is actually 7-0. There was a penalty that was miscalled in one of their matches, which resulted in a loss, and was later changed to a win. 701 should also have an extra win, and no tie. The rankings do not correctly reflect this.

987 has been doing really well. They can pick up the ball extremely fast, and can "launch" it by reversing the rollers on their claw, which allows them some extra space to lower their arm before going under the overpass. Their hybrid mode reliably knocks off one ball, and does 2-3 lines.

330 is very much like 987, but with no autonomous mode. They have had some back luck (losing to 987 120-104, partners getting 40 points in penalties, and losing to 968), but they are clearly in the top 3 robots here.

701 is doing very well also.

968 has had 3 matches where they were non-functional, yet managed to pull out wins. Two matches they had radio problems due to some aluminum chips shorting out the OI. A collision with the side of the field in hybrid ejected their battery from the robot and caused them to be inoperable for a third match.

1717 is also doing well. They have an extremely quick roller pickup, and have a pretty speedy elevator. I've heard they've had a couple issues with tipping today, though i didn't see them myself.

Match 72 tomorrow will likely determine who gets the #1 seed. 1717 2042 and 987 play 968 1266, and 1622

Re: Predictions Week 2: Slamming on the Brakes

Perhaps it's worth mentioning that the high score @FLR Friday was 118, in Q57. This involved #0067 and #0068. The highest I had heard of before was 104 in MWR, so I don't know about "Slamming on the Brakes" (unless, of course you're talking about the weather). What is the record this year?

It's up to us (the humble Warlocks #1507, ranked 4th) to try to knock #0067 from their #2 ranking this morning :ahh: . We have #0768 (ranked 8th) to help us, though, so it could be interesting! We also have the highest QR, so (unless it changes significantly) we win ties in the rankings.

146 by 1114, 1024, and 2041 also from Midwest.
