Radio Channel Interference in a skirmish

Hi Everyone,

I was taking a glance at the OI reference guide and it seems that there are 6 different channels available, but only 5 may be used simultaneously if you are using a 2007 model radio. (Page 16, section 14)
http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/oi-ref-guide-5-8-07.pdf

are the 2006 radios compatible with 2007/8 OI?

would we be able to use 4 2007 radios and 2 2006 radios in order to get 6 different channels?

Thanks alot for your help, from the Israeli FIRST community!

We actually used all 6 channels at our Pre-Ship scrimmage. We did post warning to the teams that their *might* be interference, but as far as we could tell, everything went ok when the team numbers were programmed correctly and the robots were all working :) IFI did tell us there was nothing else we could do about it (old radios or anything else), but as I mentioned, it seemed to work ok. Just make SURE that you have ESTOPs!

the radios are compatible, but you must use the old radios on BOTH the OI and the RC.
