Re: lap record

From SVR, I think I have reason to say that 190 can make one lap in less than three seconds.

Of course, I only witnessed one match where they got more than one lap, but I'm a Pit Crew/pit scout/scout-when-I-can person, so that may not be accurate. As for actual robot-around-the-track laps, I'm sorry to say my memory is a total useless fuzz. I do remember that our robot's record is more like six or so. We hurdle. Mostly. :)

Just watched our video of this match. We got 4 lines in hybrid then 11 1/2 laps in teleoperated. Our third match on friday.

Team 2468 got three lines in hybrid today and then 10 full laps in teleoperated at Lone Star. We can handle the ball but we had a microswitch go out right before the match so we just went for laps. We also pushed the ball across the line once as we passed our homestretch.

We top out at a little over 15 fps.

we have our drive wheels on a direct drive with 2 cims per side, gets us about 18 fps

Take a look at the last twenty five seconds of this clip. When it was time to go for laps, three in twenty five seconds, the first with a hurd and the last lap done in about seven or eight seconds.

Yea you guys could probably rack up an unreasonably high amount of laps and ruin the fun of all the lap bots :p a shooter...doing more laps then a racer... haha jk so how yall doin in west michigan? tried to watch one match, first time i turned on it was you guys about to start then a 25 min delay and i was like yea...

Re: lap record

well in wk 1 in nj 381 could only pull off 2 lines and 8-9 lines in tele

but

in philly my old team pulled off a full lap almost every match ( we had 14) and
there were a couple of times (like 3) were they had 5 lines, and on top of that the driver somehow got better with three weeks of not driving in between to get 10-11 almost every match . not to mention this robot only goes 12 ft/s.

and someone posted earlier about it not being controllable at 25 ft/s with the bumps in the middle, i beg to differ, our suspension system worked wonders for us and we were in the center lanes the whole match

At the off-season tournament, Beantown Blitz, this last weekend in Boston 1519's Speed Racer scored 7 lines in hybrid and 13 laps in teleop, for a total of 14.75 laps and 54 points. This round was preceded by a match boasting 8 lines in auto and 10 laps in teleop and followed by a 7 line, 11 lap match. I believe this is particularly impressive given that this is Speed Racer's first time competing. I believe video of Speed Racer will be coming, but for now a student's word will have to suffice.

I vouch for this. Saw the whole thing happen while calling play by play.

The promised video of the round with 7 autonomous lines and 13 teleop laps is now available on the team's webpage at http://www.mechanicalmayhem.org or http://www.team1519.org

You can go directly to the page with the video on it at http://www.mechanicalmayhem.org/teamvideos.asp

Enjoy!

PS: As Nathan mentions, this was the first tournament in which Speed Racer competed -- during the regular season, only two practice matches were driven at the Granite State Regional. So far this offseason, Speed Racer has only been a "substitute" robot at WPI's Battlecry -- Beantown Blitz, however, was the first tournament in which Speed Racer actually competed, as "Team 9151".
