Dear Atlanta, GA Championship Attendees,

Team 399 will be holding the 2nd Annual Robo Prom on Thursday April 17, 2008 at the Marriot Marquis in Atlanta, GA from 7:30 pm to 11:00 pm. There will be snacks and refreshments for your convenience and lots of music. The admission fee will be $10 prepaid (before April 15th) and $15 at the door. Tickets will not be sold during Thursday's competition. If your team plans on paying at the door, please provide us with an estimated head-count so we can make sure we have enough refreshments.

For more information regarding the event and payment, please email Team 399 at team399@gmail.com.

There will be signs posted in the Marquis on the night of prom directing you to the room and team members to escort you. :D

There is one correction, tickets will be sold ANYTIME. The pre sale price is valid until April 15. You must give us a head count, and mail us a check. At the door prices ($15/head) starts on the 16th, and you can contact us personally, give us a rough head count, and we will come to your pit on thursday morning. Please also let us know here on chief delphi, by adding onto this thread, if you or your team is interested.

as I'm seen on the pictures with my yellow dress shirt and my PVC cane I will attempt to bring 1251 (or the kids that are interested) to the prom since we are driving personal cars it will be easy to get there

One question will there be parking available ?????

I don't know exactly how many will come but I can try on taking at least 10 or so

I'd just like to verify, what would appropriate attire be for guys? Khakis? An Oxford? Or are we supposed to go all our and get a tux?:D

It looks like Khakis and an Oxford + Tie from the pictures.

well from the picture of the two guys walking one of them is me with the yellow shirt

I will be wearing something more casual I hope it all depends on my date because she doesn't know what she will be wearing and I will probably try to match

but remember this is a robotics prom you could wear a plant on your hear and nobody would care

but look presentable

maybe a business casual

My, my. Planning things without us, are we?? Haha. Well, I talked to the other captain and the coach. So yes, team 692 will be coming.

Attire is semi-formal (preferred), but for the people who don't hear about it until actual competition, whatever they have is fine. Most of the girls on our team will be wearing summer dresses and the boys slacks and a collared shirt. Just have fun with it. :D

We want to go, and we're working on Team 1676... we'll see how that goes!

My mentor was wondering if it was just for the kids or if the team mentors can/should come as well.

And some of team 1279 will be coming. I haven't taken an official headcount yet though.

More than likely students only. Your mentors are welcome to come if they wish, but I doubt they'll have much fun (unless they are some of those college aged ones ;P). We'll have "chaperones" (our advisors/mentors) so if adult supervision is their reason for coming it doesn't need to be. Basically tell them they can come if they want to have some fun, but it's up to them.

This sounds like a total blast!
We wouldn't be much of a contribution, seeing as there are only two girls on our team (one other than myself!) but I hope at least a couple of us make an appearance. You know, break the guys in before our ACTUAL prom! HA!

It's our first year at championships and we are looking forward to having fun.

We are competing in the Curie Division, so if you want to check us out, look for the Killer Rabbits.

If you want to reserve your presale price, you must email team399@gmail.com with your official head count. Then i will come to your pit, and collect the money at the presale price, and give you your bracelets.

I'm interested in going... however... I haven't been able to double check with my coach because he is frazzled about 3750938543 different things. Can I still pay in? I didn't RSVP... but it may just be me and 1-3 others... I think? :confused:

This event was amazing. My team members and I had so much fun. The food was wonderful and that punch was like a shot of energy. The DJ had a song for pretty much everyone. Kudos to Team 399!

We had a blast. I brought a shirt that lit up, and my brother brought a ton of glow sticks, it was crazy. :D

The DJ did a great job! I looked like a fool because I tried using the glow sticks during a hiphop song, I should have waited for some good techno! xD

I'll get some more practice and I'll have a decent routine ready for next year!

Just wanted to let you all know that we put the pictures up on the website. Some of them look very white but that is because of the fog. Thanks for a great time and hope you all had a blast. I know I did.

Thank you 399 for putting on a wonderful event. The pictures are awesome, how can we save them on our own computer? I had been looking forward to this event for months, and it was even better than expected. I skipped my own proms, I never thought I'd ever be made "Roboprom King." Thank you for giving me a night to remember for a long time.
