I agree...EDISON>>>

And that is something which I hope will change with the new kits. The robots should be shipped mainly for the copying and steeling of ideas. Teams that have been working hard to come up with their own ideas, get beaten by a robot who just ripped them off..It's not fair...it's no innovative..it's not FIRST.

Yes it's true it's stealing ideas and i do not like it but if they beat you with that same idea doesn't that prove the team has the skill to develop the idea and build it?

Lets keep this thread about Atlanta.

I'd be willing to make a bet that there are a few beastly teams which copied 339's strategy in not mentioning themselves online. And nobody will know of them because they are either rookies or unknown in previous years.

I only have scouting data on about 30% of teams (pictures and data) and have heard the results of about 20% more, which leaves me wondering what the other half will bring to the field.

On the other hand, if a team is consistently good, it is often well-known.

this is actually something our team strived to maintain even while we knew that the other design was far more efficient than ours. even then, we proceeded to the semifinals of the Georgia regional and the Quarterfinals of the NC regional... because we kept our robot's design all in all the same, we felt a lot more proud of our robot than i think we would have if we had copied some other team's idea

unfortunately we wont be attending the Championships, but our team wishes the best of luck to all teams who are -

oh, and one more thing - GO EDISON!

well ya im pritty sure no one has ever heard of 434 but we went 11-0 in the san jose reginal and have a high score of 86. it just goes to show ya the some of the rookies can have a shot at this and also its always good going in a competition when no one knows you and you can shock the crowd. and even if someone saw our robot we completely changed it and we are ready for altanta so everyone try your best and good luck:]

Nobody's heard of us NorCal vex folks. We won with them as well (and helped in the high score!).

Your high score is nice but high scores do not show how good a team is. I am not saying you guys arn't good but WHat the robot does and works is how a team is good or not

Ok, well the moment of truth is coming ever faster and teams are all great. If teams got by on luck, i'm sure that they have changed their design to match the intensity of other bots.

Yes, team 736, Robolions, also had to face the decision to keep our bot or go with a copy we found on the internet....we went with out bot...we did lose...but hey...i'm happy about how we performed.

Keep in mind, 655. We came in second at the CT. Regional and won the RI Regional. =)

no not since the scrimmage it is the same but look a lot different since the scrimmage. bc we redid the sides of the robot. but only teams that have seen us in san jose know how do our bot was.

and it is so true no one know about us nor cal bots.

Yeah, high scores definitely aren't everything. The matches my team plays in tend to be low-scoring for both alliances, but that's because we have a really awesome defensive robot which shuts down a lot of high scorers but can't handle rings at all.

(The California teams in general aren't getting much recognition here. And there's a decent amount of good teams going - Beach Cities, anyone?)
