I just showed this to one of the gals in my dorm residential college, and she has officially declared it sexy.

I concur.

Normally I sweep up the pit when the bot is on the field..but with that cart passing by twice an hour I didn't have to. Thanks 1626!

It doesnt hover off the floor very high...its just barely off the floor. Bumps are not very bad, the worst bump we ran into was that cover they put over all the wires going to the judges table.
It handles great. Its so easy to push the robot, the only difficult part is turns...you have to like drift around turns, which is kind of fun. :P

Haha yeah i was wondering about those because they are quite significant. We half took out the radio tower at philly trying to get over one of those with our cart:P

Yeah, I was wondering how well it would handle bumps as well. The only problem I could really see with this is how well it would handle inclines, like the ones in Atlanta between the pits and the field.

Otherwise, that's a pretty sweet cart. Kristian Calhoun and I built a hovercraft in 8th grade for a science project, and that was really fun to ride around on.

We are actually going to be running some tests on it tomorrow so I'll let you know about the incline. Any other tests you guys want me to try on it?

That cart was great. It can support an amazing amount of weight (over 250 lbs) but the wheels are their because it can't get over that blue handicap ramp of doom, not that ANY cart gets over that thing well. Nice job guys, you and 421 should get together and conglomerate the fork lift and the hover cart...might be able to play next years game pretty well, lol.

Does it drift to one side if not evenly loaded?

Because I didn't say this earlier: The cart looks amazing, great work. Hopefully I can use this to convince my team to finally look into building that motorized one I've always wanted to build.

I don't have any experience using 80/20 Al, but do the fasteners on the bar holding the wheels that join the bar perpendicular to the frame of the cart have any trouble when you put that much of a load on them?

That would be Team 188. They also brought that hover-cart to the SoCal regional.

Now I think they're trying to ferry people to Rochester across Lake Ontario on a much larger version of their prototype
