Archi-medes!
Well they're finally here...let's show everyone what Archimedes has!
Let the discussion begin! |
Re: Archi-medes!
Go MOE!!!
|
Re: Archi-medes!
But FIRST... I want an archemedes userbar! :]
Does anyone know where they're hiding? Looks like a great group of robots we have here... even a familiar face from eleminations alliances we've been in earlier this year... hello again 2048! :D And we'll have the pleasure of hearing the famous OINK OINK BOOM!!! from 1908... We've got some hawiians... Canadians... Alooooha, eh? ;) I'm surprised to see we even have a good number of fellow IndianaFIRST teams. Can't wait to see you all there! GO TEAMS!!! -q |
Re: Archi-medes!
OINK OINK...

Re: Archi-medes!
1124 is excited to be in Archimedes! Looks like we'll be competing with some very good teams.
|
Re: Archi-medes!
I'm going to call it right now. Archimedes is taking Einstein. Everyone else is going to be too focused on Galileo to notice the great alliance coming out of here....who's with me?

1024, one of the two teams to take three regional wins this year, is also joining us in Archimedes. 236, six-time Regional Chairman's Award Winner, who may just take the cake for the National Chairman's Award this year, will also be in Archimedes. 1902 was on Einstein last year... will they be one of the teams representing Archimedes on Einstein this year? Team 116 was awarded a long overdue Chairman's Award this year at the last regional event of the season- perhaps they'll represent Archimedes with the National Chairman's Award this year? And how could we forget 71; they've made a place for themselves in FIRST, and I'm sure they will on Archimedes. Team 27 has also brought a lot of attention to themselves with some of their crazy Overdrive moves, and I'm sure they'll bring a lot of fun to Archimedes. Another notable team of the season is 555, who will also be joining us on Archimedes. We've also got team 11 to keep us company on Archimedes; they've shown off their expert performance starting at week 1 in New Jersey. Who thinks that Archimedes is in for the win? |
Re: Archi-medes!
Glad to be out of Newton for a change.
Being 1727 in Newton division is just a weird omen. |
Re: Archi-medes!
Whoever doesn't think that Acrhie is stacked this year is lying to themselves.
I can't wait. |

Last year it was the energetic Mark Leon, and the legendary Don Knight. But Blair hasn't assigned divisions yet, because obviously the announcers/emcees want to be with their teams. So as soon as we're assigned I'll let you know. |

Re: Archi-medes!
Archimedes looks excellent this year!!! We may not have all of the "amazing" teams (we do have some though like 71, 1124 and 1024) but we're still gonna put up one heck of a fight!! Lol see you in Atl

I spy 2 of the 3 PUFP teams in Archimedes, I forsee a lot of "Let's all go nuts! Robots Robots!" and "Boiler Up!" going on, along with the occasional OINK OINK BOOM, and Get 'em and all the other catch phrases, it's going to be great!

Re: Archi-medes!
I am looking foward to working with 1727 and 1902. I think that the Elims in Archimedes will be very exciting.

Re: Archi-medes!
Hello from Israel!
Team 1690 - The Answer wishes the best of luck to all the teams! may we all have a great competition!! :) BTW 1577 are also from Israel. |
Re: Archi-medes!
Team 201 is extremely excited to be in Archimedes this year! We were in Galileo two years ago and in Newton three years ago, so we've been around. I look at the list and I see an extremely tough division. I'm personally happy that we get to 177 again, with whom we won Galileo two years ago.
Good luck to all of Archimedes! One more week and then we show them all what we can do! ARCHI-MEDES! |
Re: Archi-medes!
Always Archimedes! As soon as we saw the listing, ARCHI- MEDES!. Glad to see our partners from 41 should be with us.

I'm interested to see all the auto/hybrid modes that are in our division... I already know a few of the robots in our division have really fun to watch auto modes, and I'm sure there's more teams cooking up new stuff too. Can't wait! :D Also, I'm looking forward to what looking forward does for the championship. Will he do individual division predictions AND all the what-ifs for the Einstein eliminations? -q |

Archimedes seem stacked this year. Should be a very very interesting weekend! I have to agree... Einstein going down... I wish Champs was THIS weekend... I'm going to be on pins a needles all week! |

Okay, I'm done, waaaaay off topic. I'm going to go take a break for a while. :o -q |
Re: Archi-medes!
If you have any impressions that any other division is stronger than
ours think about this... No one team makes a winning alliance. If you ask them they like the carpet filled up on both sides of them on the starting line. All teams break somethiing sooner or later... If sooner probably the better, if later well then nerves of steel prevail. Finally when you are staring across the plexiglass of life remember the first thing you see is your own reflection. Of course the next thing you see is a robot screaming down at you so quit looking at yourself and grab your OI panel! go Archi-medes! |

Re: Archi-medes!
Looks like 171 will be joining ya'll. Good luck.
|
Re: Archi-medes!
Looks like Archimedes will be a fun division this year...! It will be a change not being in newton this year, this would have been our fourth year in newton.
Cant wait to Atlanta! See you all there. -Keaton |
Re: Archi-medes!
straight and chiseled 171 will be there to rock out with the rest of y'all.
along with 93, 269 the former Cheese Curd Herd (now Extreme Engineering) will be there to represent WISCONSIN. FIRST Time Flying. FIRST Time Championship FIRST Time hopefully to meet oink oink boom! Remember Thursday is unofficial retro t-shirt day. |

Re: Archi-medes!
As this is my teams first time at the championship, I am glad to see that we are the most competitive division. I told the students that it was time to compete with the big-dogs. I think we did a pretty good job at Detroit and can't wait to compete against some of you other dogs. Good luck to everyone. Please remember, WIN OR LOSE, the main thing is to have FUN.:)

Welcome to Archimedes, and good luck to your team. I'm looking forward to some fun with you guys and everyone else at the Championship Event. (Woof!) Edit: Now, I realize I misspoke. Archimedes is the most competitive field in that we win in a Chief Delphi posting contest- we have out-posted the other three divisions by an entire 22 posts in this thread! |
Re: Archi-medes!
Archemedes, as of this post:
- Most entertaining division? :p - Most talked about division. - Only division piloting Iron Robot: Battle of the Master Engineers - A Race Against Rust. :D - Most possible awesome alliance names (UberBacon, Uber-Kil-A-Bacon, Anomaly Kil-Az, AnomalyBacon, etc.) - Can say Aloha-eh? I'm sure there's more, but thats what comes off the top of my head for right now. :] -q |
Re: Archi-medes!
So, is anyone else having a crazy awesome scouting party tonight? hehe, ours is tomorrow I think..at a Panera bread. lol, leave it to robotics kids to have a highly important team meeting at a place with lots and lots of food:D

Re: Archi-medes!
I'd love See Archimedes Embrace the Randomizer cheer that was started in Florida.
RANDOMIZER RANDOMIZER OY OY OY ( repeat 3x or until randomizer stops) Sounds corny but its actually a lot of fun to cheer for the randomizer right before a match, makes scouting a bit more entertaining lol. |
Re: Archi-medes!
What about Philly's "What do we want? TRACKBALLS! How do we want 'em? RANDOM!" cheer? ;)

|
Re: Archi-medes!
I posted this on another thread, but I figured I'd post it here to see what kind of responses I get.
What 3 team alliance would you like to see represent Archimedes on Einstein? A few guidelines to consider before posting. 1) Don't put your own team into the alliance. Share the love, and pick 3 other teams out there (there are enough of them to choose from :p ) 2) Make them "realistic". What I mean is that as much as we would love to see a 987, 1024, 365 alliance, it's probably not going to happen because I doubt any of those three would make it to a second round pick. So based on what's likely to happen, make your choices. Any thoughts? |

1902 is humbled to be with such a great group in Archimedes. Our rookie year we were selected by 233 and 33 in Archimedes. We lost to the team in finals that eventually went onto Einstein and was undefeated.
We were blessed to be in Einstein last year and look forward to trying again this year. As an adult mentor it is so much fun to be with you high energy kids. BTW the Randomizer Randomizer Oy Oy OY really caught on and had the announcer saying it. |
