I'm going to be bolder, I think that given the right conditions a 200 point match is possible on this field. It involves 2 specific teams and one of a group of 4 teams. I am pretty sure there is no way it will happen, but I could certainly see a 180 point match for sure.

There's no way the matches wont go over 150. It's guaranteed!!! :yikes:

Yeah...i have a feeling that the finals will be dominating and that the matches will be decided by penalties. The wins are gonna be really close...

I'm not so sure of these claims. Sure, when there are purely offensive alliances, it's a possibility. However with this being Champs, and certain teams having already been spotlighted for their enormous offensive prowess... I'm pretty positive defense will play a much bigger part than most think (teams just need to have some original thought and come up with a defense that is outside of the box, but within the rules  ).

Yep! The game of "keep away" comes to mind. Box the ball(s) in a corner and "that's all folks!";)

I'm going to say that there will DEFINITELY be a match on Galileo where the combined match score is over 200 (red + blue). There will also be SEVERAL matches where the score is over 150 for the winning alliance. 1114 didn't have a match where they scored less than 98 at GTR just a few weeks ago, I expect similar results here.

Yea, 1114 has an average score of 102 for the season.
so, im pretty sure that there will be a score of over 270 combined.

i really doubt the scores will be as high as people speculate because the opposing allience can easily play a game of keep away to stop powerhouse hurdlers

Re: Galileo Division 2008

i think we'll come to find that defensive strategies for the most part will fall through, and while some bots will be better at them than others, and an alliance may pick a team based on defense, purely offensive alliances will be able to overcome most defenses... esspecially if they're limited to boxing in the ball at the corners. i can however see shotblocking as a legitimate defensive move... but i don't know how practical that idea is, since there have been very few instances of it thus far. i guess another defensive move could be pushing opponents balls backwards across lane markers, but i've seen this strategy, and for the most part it hasn't worked out too well.

Anyone who got the practice match schedule for tomorrow care to tell us when we're playing? We weren't able to make the uncrating tonight. If no one has it, I guess we'll justh ave to find out tomorrow morning.

Anyone have any idea where my team lies? I couldn't be there this year, but they hope to do well. It's team 103

They haven't stated the qualification matches yet. Check Back tomorrow after opening ceremonies, about 9:00 when the matches start.
