Newton 2008
WOW I think it's one of the strongest divisions
I'm calling it now (my opinion) NEWTON for the win!!!!!!!! teams like 233,111,968,503,359,2056, as well us some of our fellow Florida boys 79,179,312,801 just to name a few |
Re: Newton 2008
O NO, Not a chance of 233, 1251 again... the nightmares continue...:p

Hey, the 233, 179 alliance was pretty fearsome, too. Oh wait, that was last year. . .

a couple Canadian teams in newton this year: 296, 610, and of course 2056.
|
Re: Newton 2008
my first thoughts, a Florida regional with southeastern power houses.
I would not be surprised if Pink thought of 968 though as a potential 1st pick or vice versa if ranked high enough. Lets remember what pink and the identical version of 254 did in Hawaii!:p Another scary thought: 111, 233, 179, 79, 968, 39,1086, 488, 2056, 375, 60,1251. If any 3 of these machines get together in one alliance, oh my god! I still dont get how 233, 71, and 179 were given the opportunity to pair up together last year. |
Re: Newton 2008
I believe Miss Daisy 341 is also in Newton this year!
|
Re: Newton 2008
3 Israeli teams in Newton: 1574, 2214 and my personal favourite: 2630!!
see you guys there! -Leav |
Re: Newton 2008
This time 1574 is gonna kick some ****
Last year we reached 2nd place in Newton and to Newton's Semifinals. This time we're going all the way to the finals! Go MisCar!! |
Re: Newton 2008
My money is on 233.
|
Re: Newton 2008
i want an Israeli alliance FTW!
1574+2214+2630!!!! wooha! (seriously though, Galileo is scary) |
Re: Newton 2008
1086 and 1714 are both in Newton. Maybe we can make the cheese head alliance. :D

PS: Thanks Cory - though I wouldn't put any money on anyone, even you guys, in Galileo - it's just too crazy to predict. |
Re: Newton 2008
This is going to be one heck of a battle. I am very glad to be apart of newton division. Hope to see everyone at the competition and it will be very cool to meet some new west coast teams 60,39 that, I've always wanted to talk to as well as many others. Good luck to everyone and we will see you there.
|
Re: Newton 2008
Well, Buzz is certainly excited, competition looks good in Newton as always. See you all there.

Re: Newton 2008
Whatever alliance team goes on to finals from here will be a strong one. I'm ready for some high scoring qualification matches!
|
Re: Newton 2008
Whatever happens this year, it's gonna be some crazy awesome competition.
Good luck to all the teams, and goodness gracious I can't wait for next week. |

Yes, I do remember 2005 as you folks squeaked out a win in vegas over 368 and beat us in the finals that year. Plus, we do remember the good old times at SVR. |
Re: Newton 2008
Don't forget about Team 20.
|
Re: Newton 2008
Ha, Its been almost 12 hours of constant talk about how stacked Galileo is.
Newton is gonna have to knock some sense into them..;) Seriously, lots of sleeper teams in this field, not all the popular teams, but certainly many many contenders. Depth of field is immense.. 1279 will getting their hands dirty in this division Good luck and it should be fun! |

|
Re: Newton 2008
Wow... this is gonna be fun... get to see 1279 again!! Also looking forward to seeing 223's bot have seen and heard awesome things.
Also 102 is there. |
Re: Newton 2008
don't forget 2056, by most measures they are the second or third highest scoring team so far this year. They are a powerful team this year, I've seen them match up to 1114 very well in head to head matches. I think a combination of 2056 with one of 233, 968, 111, 39 would go very far.
|
Re: Newton 2008
This is going to be fun to actually compete with teams that we have only been able to see from SOAP and other videos. Go Newton....
By my count: Galileo 21 one time winnner 7 two time winners 1 three time winners 13 Chairman's winners Newton 20 one time winner 6 two time winners 0 three time winners 12 Chairman's winners Archimedes 20 one time winner 0 two times winners 1 three times winners 10 Chairman's winners Curie 19 one time winner 1 two times winners 0 three times winners 5 Chairman's winners |
Re: Newton 2008
We're excited about competing in Newton this year and are ready to play. We have been talking about heading down to Florida next year; it seems like Newton is going to be a sneak preview of the competition we'd face down there.
Can't wait. |

I like how every1 notices and predicts teams the have been to the world championship before and not look at teams that have great robots this year and have won multiple regionals.

The team lists have been moved over to the individual fields. Looks like Newton is pretty much the same as it has been so far. I was hoping that there would be a list for Einstein so we could all see how well Newton is going to do.

Well, since there are 15 robots there, and I would expect some other teams to crack the top 8, a few of those teams will have to be 3rd robots.

There are a few other team that will also be around for 3rd robots that would really make a solid alliance. With the depth of this division, every alliance should be pretty strong |

Hey! Team 223 in the curie division and are looking to align with a team from each division for scouting. With a small group like ours, it is difficult to scout in all four divisions.
With a team in each division, we can all share our scouting information when it comes time for pairings. If your team is interested or has further questions, feel free to e-mail me at kazzykaty@aol.com. |

Looking forward to 1318's first visit to Atlanta. Also happy to be on the same field as 488, which has been a great alliance partner in 2007 and 2008.
I haven't been to the big one since 2000 in Orlando, so this will be exciting. Good luck to you all. Beware of the Killer Rabbit. |
