Why do we have the nationals in Atlanta GA. is there anything special about or is it just big or something?

Search around a little bit on the forums for more information. One of the things that has been determined by folks in the past is that there are few venues in America that can hold an event of such nature.

In addition and in my personal speculation, it seems that Atlanta has more hotel space as well as a commitment in place to assist the event.

Atlanta has also consistently put forth the best bid to host the event. FIRST has put the Championship location up for bids at least twice in my memory, and Atlanta won both times, for the reasons that Amanda posted, among others.
