NEWTON MATCH LIST 2008??
 

hey i was looking up some teams rankings from regionals when i stumbled upon what seemed to be the newton match list for 2008. I dunno if its fo' real but im sure it will give all you newtonians somthing to ponder for the next few days. God knows if your anything like me school is just a medium for nationals thought, list writing, and deep focus mental driving practice

even if it is a test, why was it located in a regional's match list??

Given that its path includes TEST (and not newton, curie, galileo, or archimedes), they are probably testing something about the match generating algorithm. They probably chose the Newton teamlist to test with because they needed SOME team list, and it happens they chose Newton.

It is my understanding that the actual match lists are not generated until the morning of the practice day, rather than 1 week in advance.

look at the name of the link, says TEST.
it's probably jsut the FIRST guys testing the FMS

When you go to "Awards" you get the Boilermaker Regional. When you to to "Elim Schedule" the page title says Boston, and you get teams from other divisions and some teams that aren't coming at all.

It's a test.

Team 2468 is in this list and the division at the top says Galileo which is the division we are in. Maybe they are running all the divisions if your team was listed earlier.

it was newton half an hour ago, now its Galileo. I guess they are testing all their equipment.

Could be scorekeeper training, too.

Practice matches are generated on the morning of the first day, and qualifying matches are generated near the end of the first day at a regional. Don't know how they do it at Championships, but I suppose they would do it the same in case a team drops on practice day.

This year we changed it a bit and generated qualifying match lists at lunchtime on practice day. I expect it will be the same next week.
