NBA Playoffs 2008
Hey,
even though I am a total FIRST addict, I still find time to watch and follow basketball which is my second passion. Now the playoff time has come...what do you think who will make the title? I would guess the Suns, the Rockets, the Celtics or the Mavs...my favorite would be the Mavs, but I am, as a German, not really objective...go Dirk Nowitzki...overall the Celtics or Suns will probably end up first! What do you think? |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
LAKERS BABY!!!!
KB24 MVP!!!!! He is and everyone knows it. Dont hate Kobe, celebrate how great of a player he is. Anyways, I think Lakers have a great shot at taking it all, even without Bynum down in the paint. We got Gasol. Ill post my prediction bracket once season ends. |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
im a HUGE Dallas fan, great to see their finally putting it together with the Kidd Trade...
sidenote: imagine Mark Cuban at a FIRST event. now that would be FUNNY |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
Who thinks Nuggets will make it to the playoffs with Carmelo Anthony gone, at least it seems temporarily after his DUI arrest today?

Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
Nah, Lakers have it. No contest. Gasol is back where he should be, Fisher is getting used to the injured foot. Bynum may be out, but Odom and Turiaf are doing amazing. And Kobe, need I say more.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
Hey, I'm fine as long as the Spurs lose. haha (no offense to San Antonio fans) :p
|
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
I had the great fortune of watching Game 1 of the Pistons-Celtics series with a pair of Boston fans, but the Pistons made up for it last night! I also got a few text messages from teammates after that one... I guess that's what happens when you're a Detroit fan living in New England ;)

Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
Bah, why can't the Spurs keep it up! They let the Lakers off in game 1 and got slaughtered in game 2. They need to pick it up and fast.

Phil Jackson= Epic Fail
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slu...yhoo&type=lgns
READ ARTICLE FIRST As if I didn't hate Phil Jackson enough, he has to go and run his mouth. I watched the game and I did see some bias, even being a Celtics fan. But really, was it worth a $25,000-$50,000 fine. We've had that happen to us throughout the entire playoffs. Maybe not this bad, but it's been biased. I'm not so much angered by that, because coaches get angry all the time. I'm more angered over how he treated Doc Rivers. "See you in L.A." Get over yourself. You've done nothing so far in this series to be giving threats. And my god, do you think Doc is responsible for the fouls. Maybe you could also take into consideration the fact that MAYBE, just maybe you got outplayed. I don't think a 24 point lead just magically appears. I don't know where else to go. Seriously though, one of the worst shows of sportsmanship I've ever seen. |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
I'm pretty sure Jackson was very calculated and knows what he said. I'm sure he said it not just to criticize the officials but to motivate his team. You don't win that many championships without knowing how to motivate your team.
Also, this is no where near the worst sportsmanship things in the past year even. |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
WHAT NOW!!!!!!!
17!!! |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
man, the lakers got owned in the face.
|
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008

Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
Man, that was a beating of EPIC proportions
|
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
*sarcasm* Where was the GP in the game last night? Almost a 50 point lead?! ... What has the world of sports come to? */sarcasm*
Celtics Win! Now its Houston's turn next year!! [I'll settle for Dallas though.] Pavan. |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
I'm happy for Kevin Garnett. He truly deserved a championship trophy.

I had the neat opportunity to watch game 1 of this series in New England, and it was cool to see Pierce come back from his knee injury and bury the Lakers. Andy B. |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
K.....now can the sports fate gods please send some championship blessings to a city other than Boston?
;) I find it funny the Cavs played the Celtics the closest of all the teams, even with their patchwork lineup and Lebron's lackluster performances. Bodes well for the future. Hurray for playing good D too - the equalizer. |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
I'm suprised this many people still follow the NBA. I really couldn't care less about it any more. College is the way to go.

Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
Hmm... you ever think the Lakers would've done better if they had Shaq? :D
Yay, Boston Three Party! |
Re: NBA Playoffs 2008
Shaq's beastly, so of course they would have dont somewhat better. i don't know if the Lakers would have won the whole thing though
