I would guess that Chuck (team 84) was defending team 103 at an event, probably by using an elevator to block shots.

Well, I think that the Looking Forward team did a great analysis as usual. In my opinion, I think that quite a few people are going to be shocked during the alliance selections because I'm betting that at least one big name team will not be picked, simply due to Galileo's strength. This may be due to the fact that a team will have a good hurdling bot, but alliance captains may be more prone to selecting a lap/defensive bots to complete their alliance.

But hey for all I know, I'm completely wrong.

[/quote]25 was stopped short of the regional finals for the first time since 2005 in Hawaii. Raider Robotix has a great hybrid that makes them a very dangerous opponent, but their pick-up and tele-operated scoring is too lack-luster to put them on par with the elite, especially once defense is applied. There may even be some matches where they're the third best scoring machine on their alliance. They'll likely join the 6th, 7th, or 8th alliance, but will need some very significant support if they want to avoid a QF loss on Galileo for the second consecutive year.

If we are on a team that needs us to play defense or there is a better hurdler. We will have no problem being a lap/defensive robot. I would not mind backing up two robots that put 6 over each.

I'd like to see 1114, 254 and 148. Also, 1114, 217 and 148.

I'd also like to see 330, 217/1717 and good 3rd.

Hmmm. Any combination of 1114, 254, 217, 330, 8 and 148 meeting in the galileo finals would be a great show.

Nuggetsyl, as for you 25. It seems like some dominant defense can wreck a lot of alliances. With all the good hurdlers in the division, and the fact the 25's machine seems like it'd play much better defense; I think you guys would make some big waves as a bruiser.

I hope you don't mind, but i don't think that 1114 will refuse a #1 seeded offer. They wanna win...i dun think that they wanna be captain when they can win for sure.

They've done it before. The team they declined beat them in semis. That's just the way it's played here.

The team they declined was then beaten by the champions.

Quite possibly a growing pain, or a lessoned learned?

I know many teams play with the possibility from year to year "If we are in that position, will we turn an alliance down". It's a tough call for anyone out there to make.

Dunno, but that particular team was declined by the team that beat them. So it could be either.

They did defend 103, but they didn't block any shots, just for the record.

"Up....Chuck!" is just one of their common team slogans, I believe.

Yup, I was making sure that people weren't expected 84 to be tearing around the field blocking shots and doing other miracle plays.

Wow, I guess Looking Forward really can predict the future! Great call. Any stock market tips?
