I am overwhelmed with happiness to see a Canadian team take it all!

Congratulations to everyone in those final divisions matches, no lie, there were some pretty amazing robots and some pretty amazing teamwork!

The Detroit Free Press hails your victory.

Major congrats to 217, who were amazing partners back at GLR, and now have 2 championships in 3 years.

Have a safe flight home!!!

My group from USC was eating lunch in the media suite on Saturday when I looked at Galileo's red alliance station. When I saw those three numbers up on the player station, I was practically gushing about the potential epicness of the alliance. (Both of my partners probably think I'm a nut after yesterday.)

Congrats, Simbots Wrangling Chickens!

Once I saw Paul talking to 1114 Saturday morning and it was a well known fact that they would team up, I knew they would be next to unstoppable. However, I was really surprised they only had two hurdlers on their alliance - but it seemed to work out very well for them. Regardless, congratulations to all three teams, their hard work really paid off. Congratulations to the running up alliance and all other teams who were apart of the event.

Does anyone have a video of Semis 1 Match 2, I was in the pits crating our robot and missed it.

Congrats to both alliances for a very exciting set of finals matches, and a fantastic season all around.

My favorite part of the finals was that Paul Copioli had the honor of competing against his 217 protege, Wayne Penn, a mentor to team 348. I know it was a proud moment for them both, and it makes for a great FIRST success story.

I offer my sincerest thanks to everyone for making the 2008 season an inspiring one for me and my team.

You know, I think it was the year of teacher/student. With Paul and Wayne in the finals and Raul/Rich at Midwest, it's really the year of it!

Congratulations to 1114, 217, & 148. I think that the finals on Einstein this year were truly the best I've seen in a long time. 2 alliances that were really just awesome and really what I think were the 2 best formed. I was thrilled to see them both make it out there.

Although these two alliances did have me going nuts. It is very hard to figure out who to root for when it's my old team against probably my favorite team in the competition (sans my own of course)... Simbots and HOT, not cool... :P

Congrats to teams 1114, 217 and 148. For the life of me I can't believe the three of you were able to form one alliance. But yeah, also got to give a shout out to teams 67 and 233, you guys definately had champ caliber robots this year and deserve a great deal of recognition. In fact, I would've loved to see the two of you + a race car/defender vs the championship alliance, that would have be an incredible match up. I wonder if all those teams will make it out to IRI?

Congrats to the winners!

Also congrats to 233, 968, and 60; the most sexy alliance on Einstein IMO. We were rooting for you the whole way!

1114, you finally did it. I couldn't be happier for you guys. You are such a phenominal team and not just in terms of building a winning robot. This season, you defined FIRST and it's objectives and I don't think anyone will argue with me when I say that you guys are the real deal.

217, you came up with a super simple, effective, and unique design that worked wonderfully and looked amazing while doing it. You probably have the best arm-bot in the game this year and I loved watching you slam dunk your way through Einstein.

148, you guys served as a great 3rd robot and played good defense throughout the finals and you were a great compliment to the constant hurdling of 1114 and 217. Good job guys.

You three are the reason I keep coming back. You do so much on and off the field and it only makes me want to push forward harder. I have so much respect for all three of you and I'm so happy to see you guys walk away from Atlanta as champions.
