Congratulations to 1771, Championship Xerox Creativity Award winner!
Team 1771 from North Gwinnett High School in Georgia won the Championship Xerox Creativity award for their effective shooter design (picture here). This is a big accomplishment for a team only a few years old, and I congratulate them for their success this year. Team 1379 looks forward to continuing our partnership in the months and years to come.

Thank you so much. I am really proud of our team for our robot this year. I hope we can improve on our success next year and keep getting better.

Re: Congratulations to 1771, Championship Xerox Creativity Award winner!
As an alumnus and original founder of the team, I'm beyond impressed with their performance this year. This was our first year with real sponsorship, mentoring, and structure, and it really showed in what the members, who are almost all new or only have one regional's experience, were able to accomplish. So I look forward to more great performances from 1771 in seasons to come.

I'd like to add my congratulations. I had the pleasure of watching your 'bot (and hearing it's lovely "thoomp" sound) at Peachtree. Your design is a marvel of problem solving. You really deserved the award.

Re: Congratulations to 1771, Championship Xerox Creativity Award winner!
yeah your design was awesome!!! I saw it in peachtree also, and went "wow.. I can't believe how well suction is working for this team"
On a side note, I tried to go to the blue alliance page to watch video of you guys at atlanta, yet apparently you didn't attend??? Anyone know why this is? |
Re: Congratulations to 1771, Championship Xerox Creativity Award winner!
I add my congrats. While I never saw it in person, it was great to see it on the screen during awards.
1771 did attend - they were one of the very last teams brought up from the waiting list. Perhaps their registration was finalized after TBA did its last sweep of data from FIRST. |

As I told you guys walking back to the pits Saturday. Your design was great!!! It was great being with you'all in the elims. If we has won our last qualifying match, you were at the top of our pick list -- we got with you anyway. Sorry we couldn't help you any more than we did.

I wish we were last minute to atlanta :(
lol congrats once again on the wonderful design, and the creativity award (this award is by far my favourite one :D, for reasons... not having anything to do with the fact that we have one from waterloo) CREATIVITY FOR THE WIN!!! go all mind that think creatively!!!:D |
Re: Congratulations to 1771, Championship Xerox Creativity Award winner!
I have to say that 1771's vacuum use was probably the most effective I've ever seen in FIRST. That bot never lost hold once it had it and could hurdle from the other side of the field similar to 27. You guys were awesome to play with during the qualifications and we were thrilled when you won the award. Congratulations!

Thanks so much everyone. We were added on monday and it could not have been a happier day for us. You can watch one video on soap it is match 11. I absolutely loved our robot this year and can't wait to improve on it for next year.

In my opinion this was one of the best pure shooters in Archimedes, best pure hurdlers even. This design was elegant and effective, I couldn't believe how well it worked. Great work guys, it was a pleasure competing with you.

Re: Congratulations to 1771, Championship Xerox Creativity Award winner!
Thank you so much stud man. I thought the same thing as well. We could fairly consistently hurdle 5 times a match under any defense and we had matches where we hurdled 6 or 7 a lot more than once. We actually hurdled 6 times in each match of the quarterfinals against 71 and 11. We were really hoping to be paired up with another good hurdler and see how far we really could go but we still had a blast. Look for something even cooler next year at the Championship.

That is really awesome you guys got to go to Atlanta. I saw your robot before the first week of regionals and my jaw hit the floor. It's seriously one of the most neato robots I've ever seen. I was pretty bummed when I found out you guys missed a berth in Atlanta, as not only is your mechanism unique, it's extremely effective! So serious props to your mechanism and your build team. You produced one of the most interesting FRC designs I've seen in a long time. I'd love to see a White Paper on how you made it. Seriously, your robot was (and still is) awesome. :)

Major props to you guys, definitely a deserving recipient of the award. I loved watching you guys pop them over on Archi, can't wait to see what you all come up with next year!
