Thought on Qualification
 

When I first saw the new qualification system for nationals, after taking a bit of time to digest (and to figure out we don't qualify), I started to try and think of teams that are perennial favorites that wouldn't be able to attend. Here's the interesting part: I had a very hard time thinking of any. And my thought just now, is this intentional? Was FIRST trying to craft a system where those who are the more "famous" FIRST teams will always be able to attend nationals? And of course the better question to that, is this a good thing? Personally I am against any qualifications at all (make it first-come first-serve or at worst random) but this system of qualifications seems a bit suspicous. Perhaps it's just me. Or perhaps those teams deserve to go to Nationals more than others do.
