Fun with Spare Pneumatics

I was bored on rainy day and decided to go through the team's spare parts. We had not used any of the pneumatics on our robot this season, I thought I could put it to good use. I made a video to demonstrate what I did.

By the way, I drank 3 monsters and finished my monster can collection.

I have alot of used pnuematic parts I've scavenged from rebuilt and scrapped robots and automation from where I work. Someday I'm planning on setting something up for Halloween. I have a cylinder with a 4' stroke.........yes, 4'! It came from a pnuematic axis on a robot that I plan on attaching a ghost to and have popping up from behind a shrub. I have another 2 dozen cylinders too including a rotary that I could do something with.

One of these days I have to sort through the used and a few damaged SMC 3000 series valve block parts and clean up the good parts and possibly rebuild and fix some of the damaged ones. If I'm lucky I might be able to piece together one good valve from two or three damaged ones. This goes for the bases also.

I love the scrap barrels at work! :D

It also helps if you build a sensor-triggered air release for Halloween. As people walk by the get shot with a blast of air in the lower leg. It also helps with some eerie lighting to enhance the "scare effect".
