Re: Dean's collection of cars

Hey Chris, yes Dean still has his H1. There really is nothing different with it compared to other H1's. It's pretty much the same. He's got aluminums instead of steel wheels. Some kid in Bedford who also has an H1 has Dean's old wheels. Kamen's is a turbodiesel unlike the earlier models. He loves his truck, he will never get rid of it, no matter what anyone might say to him. I noticed you posted a few times before regarding his truck so I thought I'd reply:)

P.S.- It is a Hummer H1, not a Humvee. The H1 is the civilian version. They both were built down the same assembly line, about halfway through, they got seperated for paint, engine, interior creature comforts, etc. Dean has an H1. Bought straight from a dealer.

thanks matt. i was just curious if he still had it. with the way diesel prices are, i wasn't sure if it was bugging him enough to give it up.

I've ridden in it, I wouldn't quite call it 'creature comforts'. Especially not when driving through the woods next to his driveway. (yikes! bumpy.)

Dean calls it a Humvee, and I trust him on that one because it's been a Humvee as far back as my memory reaches, but ....

[warning: soapbox!]
In the end does it even matter? Who really cares if Dean still has his Humvee, or has a certain kind of watch, or whatever. That's totally not important. At all. That'd be one of the parts of the current celebrated culture we're trying to get out of the picture. You can't value a person by what they own.

I'd qualify that statement just a bit....what if the person designed and built the particular item? Or made some serious modifications to it themselves? :)

Hey Chris, just got your PM. Just got home from work. To answer your question, I am more of a Viper kinda guy. I like the more high end sports cars. If I had the money, I wouldn't buy a Hummer. I would have no use for it. Then again, it's just my opinion, everyone is different. It is most certainly cool looking, but that doesn't make me want to buy one. I look for performance and comfort in a vehicle. I don't know Dean personally, only met him once. There is a kid who lives in Bedford that has an H1 and his parents know Dean or somethin like that. Not really sure. That is how that kid got into the H1's, cause of Dean. Can't remember his name, he is not someone I knew, this was last summer, when I met him. I will try to find his name, I will PM you if I find out ok:) I live in MA, so I don't go up to NH that often.

Hey Chris, your PM is not working. It's not a problem at all. I'm happy to help. Just for the future though, there are other people who have H1's in this world. Not just dean. Google up a search and you will find out more about them. You are kinda talkin like Dean is the only one! Anyway, take care.

P.S.- I asked my manager at work about the kid with the H1 in Bedford since he would know best. His name is Josh Miller. It took him a second, he was like, who?! He hasn't seen or heard from him since last summer. He doesn't know anything more than that. Does that settle everything? Now we can end this Hummer talk LOL . Peace.

Re: Dean's collection of cars

Chris, what's the deal? I told you what I could. If you are so interested in H1's, go to a Hummer Dealer and browse:) It's a normal Hummer. No different than any other H1. Same specs. Don't make it sound like it was custom made, LOL. We have established Dean's truck, ok, end of story. Go to a Hummer event. I was kinda confused by you're PM. Most H1 owners I would think, like to keep a low profile. So leave them be. Josh included, I don't know him, I don't personally know any H1 owners, so that should do it for you're questions on H1's. Take care bro.
