The following league members have not been very active recently in the drafts.
If I do not see them participating in any way in tonight's draft I will be sending them PMs:
Elgin Clock
Nawaid Ladak
jtdowney

When will their picks be available?

Tomorrow night.

Sequence of booting, as a reminder: Player(s) miss(es) 4 drafts. The warning is posted on the day of the fifth draft; if the player doesn't draft, he gets a warning PM that night. If the warned player doesn't show up at all for the next day's drafts, the last draft that they are in to finish has a message on the end: XXXX has been booted from the league and his teams are up for grabs.

Tottanka 29-12-2008 14:36

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

Do you guys mind announcing here if any of those 3 reply to your PM please.

I am making lists in case they drop, and need to know of any changes.

Thanks.

I actually expect to hear from most of them. It's Nawaid I'm mostly concerned about.

Haha. Yeah; weekends away from home do that to ya'.
I'll be participating in tonights draft.
I'm still here & happy with my randoms from this weekend so it's all good.
The randomizer has been nice to me in the past, so I'm just letting it work for me the nights I can't be at the computer.

$@#$@#$@#$@#, and here i was preparing for Grabbing :D

I wouldn't count on the random if i were you though...
you could have made lists on your free time and send them instead of selecting during the draft.

I knew Elgin would show and jtdowney is online and bound to wander by sooner than later.

I hope so, I would prefer them playing than having fewer people. But I still wouldn't mind some of their teams.

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

We are so close to the end and the players have been active this long, I think its worth it to just let the game play itself out. Going back and picking on a 1st come 1st serve basis for 30 some drafts would give a major advantage to whoever happens to be online when its posted that a player is kicked off.

I'm not the one that sets the rules though.

ATannahill 29-12-2008 17:44

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

We spending six weeks building a robot with little sleep, and you can't go through your drafts to see where you could prosper from someone dropping out? It is not that hard, Tottanka and I already have been working on it.

Barry Bonzack 29-12-2008 17:47

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

Not sayin' I can't. I'm sayin' I don't wanna! ha ha. No, I'm actually just arguing that Nawaid and others have already put a massive amount of effort to stay in this long, and there will be a huge advantage to those that happen to be online when whoever is dropped. I plan to be on tomorrow since I am running the LI draft, but I prefer not to be accused of winning this year because someone dropped out during the final week.

Making the lists took me like 10 minutes.
I simply searched the Fantasy First forums for every thread with my nickname + the possible booted persons nickname, and went over it with the lists i made for every regional.

And you don't have to worry about being accused of winning at all :D This year that would not be the case :)

Thats smart, I just copied all of the urls of my drafts into an excel file, didn't take much longer but it's a lot of blue links to make you dizzy.

It is very hard to disagree with you this year. So far it looks like to me JackN should take home the Elgin Clock Award, but we shall wait and see.

I also have been searching the same way when others have dropped.

There's an award named after me (I guess. lol I still have to laugh about that one kind of) because of a completely random pick a few years back.

Team 67 did quite well in Atlanta in 2005 & was a 3rd round random pick for me if I recall correctly. ;)
I like fate at times & not always spending a lot of time making a list that will just not be used because others pick the teams ahead of me on a certain night.
You can see why.

And, free time?!?!? What's that?
I'm lucky I'm here to pick in person as much as I am.

I stand on my old ground, but I do realize the need to maintain rules as rules. Others were kicked out, that were more active. It really isn't that hard to send in 5 teams for every draft, or just let us know that you'll take the randomizer on a few.

If that's the case then why not make exceptions for others? Stephi Rae was stuck in an airport for 18 hours and didn't have internet for days. Should I let her back in as well? What about others who were booted?
Rules are rules guys. if I make exceptions for one then I have to make exceptions for everyone!

FIRST is (Dean) Kamen's baby, while the teams were just treated like food by the players of these leagues.

Just give me randoms. I'll be in NH (preferably without any broken or bruised body parts after a long day of snowboarding - HA!) when you're running this.
There will be a nice window to trade teams out though after I get back including, but not limited to, Saturday night (Jan 3rd) though, correct?

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

I should be able to get the spreadsheet with all the teams up within a day or so, if I have the following picks:

Michelle Celio: FLR Tier 2, second pick. 1930 is not attending (Alex Cormier, source).

JackN, Lonestar Tier 2, second pick. I didn't get your list for that one.

Greg Peshek, Hawaii Tier 1, second pick; Vegas Tier 2, second pick. Both have a team picked twice.

NickE, 10000 Lakes Tier 2, third pick. No team is picked.

Of course, the MI Championship will be the Wednesday before Week 6. I might move it up an hour or so to allow for more trading time.

4 teams recently dropped out or got kicked, I do not have time to find out who.

I fixed the Hawaii double pick on the 26th, I'll do something about the Vegas one in a sec.

EDIT: It actually looks like Ed fixed the Vegas one back on the 27th.

So for your reference, I got 2520 for my second pick for Vegas and 2443 for my second pick on Hawaii

That's probably the two days I wasn't paying attention due to work.

Michelle and Jack still need their picks. (Unless Ed got to those, too.)

Attention all Season Long participants!

The official team lists are at http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2188?

Please review your picks to ensure accuracy and that nobody else in your tier has them. Tiers are indicated by a "Tx", where x is between 1 and 4. If one of your teams is in bold text, there is a known issue--either they aren't there, or they are double-picked.

Noted in the official (non-posted) sheet. Affected are Sunbun and Indysam.

Also, a .txt file has been added to the Excel file.

That's not what the thread says... you had 2377 and traded them for 181.

The trade was carried out. You can trade back if you want, but try not to confuse me when you do.

The following is just before the trade

We have a bit of a problem with Waterloo. According to the list here, there are now only 20 teams attending.

I didn't check the other tiers, but I know my tier (Tier 3) has 7 players.

And I looked into the other tiers to see if they had room for a player (if someone volunteered), but we can't move a player between tiers and redraft. I'll see who's affected by the shortage (besides everybody) tomorrow; I need my sleep now.

As a side note, I will release the full list again just after Ship Date. At this release, you will want to check your teams against the official lists and make changes as appropriate.

I'll save you the legwork. It looks like every tier other than Tier 1 is currently short.

Tier 1
Alex Cormier has 1450, Jherbie53 has 2427, Michelle Celio has 2076
1219, 2013, 2185, 2634, and 3040 are still available

Tier 2

2013 and 3040 are available

Tier 3
Oris has 1450 and JackN has 2427

Tier 4
Tottanka has 2427 and 2076, and JesseK has 1450
2013 and 3040

Ouch. I think what I'll say (for now) is that the first one(s) to speak up and choose a replacement team get that replacement team, and we'll go from there.

The other option (which I don't really want to do) is redraft with 5 tiers instead of 4. We'll see what Ed says.

Your attention please!

Yesterday, with CD down, I started wondering: What other events are missing teams? Well, I've got a lot of events, and a lot of missing teams. Sometimes, people are missing more than one team, too. (Elgin, this means YOUR Dallas alliance--none of them are on the list anymore.)

Within the next 24 hours or so, I'll post a list of who's missing what where. Once the list is posted, it is your responsibility to draft new teams before the lists are locked.

EricH 17-01-2009 17:20

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

As promised, here is the list.

The following players need to replace any listed teams before the rosters are locked, for the reason that that team is not on the list anymore (unless otherwise noted):

Koko Ed: Washington DC, 3047; Oregon, 2971; San Diego, 3048, 1599; Dallas, 2352; Lansing, 2586
Tottanka: Oregon, 1346; San Diego, 2141; Los Angeles, 1156
Jherbie53: Oregon, 1294; Florida, 2955; Israel, 1949; VCU, 2988 double-picked; Seattle, 1130
SamSofa330: Oklahoma City, 425; Boston, 2371; SVR, 1560; Philly, 618; GTR, 286
rocketperson44: Finger Lakes, 87; Pittsburgh, 2010; Vegas, 968; Traverse, 94
EricH: Buckeye, 174; Midwest, 2939; Oklahoma City, 425; San Diego, 675; Florida, 2955; Wisconsin, 1077; St. Louis, 1793
NickE: Oklahoma City, 425; Florida, 2565; Philly, 618; Seattle, 1930
hill: NYC, 195; Pittsburgh, 2835; Kettering, 573
JesseK: San Diego, 2141; Florida, 2640, 2567; Peachtree, 1983; Traverse, 94
Michelle Celio: Midwest, 1770; Pittsburgh, 2835; SVR, 1560; Israel, 2257; Palmetto, 2023
Elgin Clock: Buckeye, 1626; Midwest, 3030; San Diego, 2272; Dallas, full alliance; Florida, 2568; Chesapeake, 2791
JackN: Dallas, 118; Los Angeles, 585; Chesapeake, 1866; LSR, 34 double-picked
Sunbun: LSR, 1710
Alex Cormier: Boston, 177; Oregon, 2591; NYC, 2753 double-picked; Dallas, 2937; Pittsburgh, 2010
Liz Smith: Dallas, 2352; Los Angeles, 585; LSR, 462
Pat McCarthy: Buckeye, 829 double-picked; Oklahoma City, 1863; Finger Lakes, 87; San Diego, 675
rtfgnow: Buckeye, 174; Israel, 2257
Barry Bonzack: San Diego, 675; Los Angeles, 1156; Vegas, 968; LSR, 1710
Indysam: Buckeye, 2166; Oklahoma City, 1468; Pittsburgh, 2010; Kettering, 573
Arefin Bari: San Diego, 1120; Florida, 2565; Peachtree, 2983; Traverse, 94
Kristian Calhoun: Buckeye, 1075; San Diego, 3048; NYC, 195; Detroit, 2226
340x4xLife: Bayou, 2978; LSR, 462; Traverse, 835
Oris: Boston, 177; Dallas, 2004
Greg Peshek: San Diego, 2272; Dallas, 2004
Nawaid Ladak: Buckeye, 2166; NYC, 2170; Dallas, 2376; Florida, 2567; Palmetto, 2023; Lansing, 2586

Waterloo is listed above. If you’re on that list, add your missing teams there to your list of teams to replace here.

NOTE: I think some of the teams are simply mis-typed, somewhere along the line. However, I am not totally sure which ones are simple typing errors and which are definitely not coming. If it's a simple mistype, just drop me a PM and I'll take care of it immediately. Please make any changes before Ship Date; if you have not made changes by then, I will remind you once.

Teams that are not replaced by the time the rosters for their week are locked will be replaced by a random team!

Incidentally, at one point, everyone was on the list. Then Vikesrock replaced the missing teams on his list.

The Excel file and the FIRST website. I have done my best to make sure that the Excel file is current to the threads. As in, if I saw a FF thread on the portal during the drafting/trading season, I checked it against the spreadsheet, and changed the spreadsheet accordingly. The version I have now is different than the posted one, due to recent changes and the massive check I just did.

As for the other question, I've seen several of them in other events--my guess is that most of the teams decided they couldn't afford to go to another event and dropped one. The exception would be 118 and Dallas--they're going to DC instead, I think. I don't really know or care if they've been dropped totally, at least for FF purposes.

All lists lock when announced; usually early morning of the practice day for the event. So the real question is, how long after ship date do the Week 1 regionals start? (No, I don't keep track of that very much...)

For those that don't have a replacement in a tier, you're the first in line to get one if another team shows up. Though I'd kind of like to know how to score it if no team shows up.

Unless there was a simple mistype, 118 went to DC instead and the other two simply dropped. I was surprised too.

Repick list, continued...

Waterloo now has more teams! Come one, come all to get them! (Sorry, no 1114 yet.)

Oh, and there's been one more drop there. 854 is no longer listed.[Edit] More than one. Thanks for spotting that, Greg.

There should be enough teams in Waterloo now for everyone in all the tiers.

As a reminder, if you don't replace your missing teams before the lists are locked, you will get a random team. If you tell me now that you want a random team, I'll take care of it.

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

2634 and 2427 is also no longer attending waterloo. In tier 2 this effects Nawaid and NickE respectively. I have not checked the other tiers.

2076 is attending waterloo, so Nawaid is safe with that one.
854 looks like they are also listed again for waterloo.
