Updated list is posted in CD-Media
I have just posted an updated list in CD-Media at http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2212?
Please, please, check your teams. A number of you still have known draft issues. If you just want random teams, that's just fine; let me know so I can deal with it before I have to score the event. If you can't read it, let me know and I'll tell you which events you have issues in. I may or may not do final checks the week(ends) before each event, so from this point on, your teams are your responsibility to watch for. |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
Randomize please!

Get ready to launch
Hello, Fantasy FIRSTers!
With less than one week before the Week One drafts lock, six people have yet to choose replacements for missing teams in the week. The scoring staff (me) would greatly appreciate your choosing replacements before the drafts lock. If you have any of the following teams at the listed events, please either choose a new team or let me know that you want a random team. If you say that you want random, I will apply that to all missing teams that you have unless otherwise specified. No response will get you a random team for the event in question to replace the missing team. You will not be notified of which team you get until the list is re-released. Week 1: Buckeye: 1626, 1075, 2166 Midwest: 1770, 3030 Oklahoma City: 425, 1863 Reminder: The Michigan Championship will draft April 1. This is to allow the maximum time for teams to say they are coming. The tier lists will probably be released during the Week 5 events. I will release the scores each week, if I have internet access. I will be traveling around the time of Week 2/Week 3, but should still be able to post scores and issues. |

|
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
In the posts titled "Traverse City Tier X". Or on the FIRST website, under FRC events->Michigan Districts.
You don't have to worry; you personally aren't participating in the Season Long Fantasy FIRST last I checked. |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
Does anyone know when the list of teams attending an event gets locked?

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
Alright, I got the team scoring done except for a few things.
Buckeye second day awards and tournament results don't seem to be up. I'm not sure which teams the WFA's at NJ or OK are from. The last thing is, are wins/losses only counted from Quals or are Elims included as well? Right now I have it as only from Quals. |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

Just for grins, I did my teams for the week. I'm pleasantly surprised--either I was over 50 points per event or I had negative. |

Alright, Excel sheet has been upped here:
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2219 I left Buckeye blank because of all the missing info and I still don't know what team the WFA from OK is from. EDIT: Thanks Akash! PS. I'm loving the 253 pt. performance by my DC alliance. |

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
I would like to remind all participants to check their own lists against everyone else's in their tier. Sometimes it happens that a team is double-picked and people who notice issues (all of you) miss it. This happened in BAE Tier 1, and was only noticed during scoring (i.e., about 5 minutes ago).
When this happens, I don't like my alternatives: ignore it or give a random team that may or may not be better. I will usually grab the first team that isn't picked off the random list, no matter the reason they aren't picked. The random team will always go to the second person to get the double-picked team. This random team may be worse than the team you had! This was the case in BAE. Any replaced teams will not be posted; however, they will be in bold when the score sheets come out each week. They will then revert to normal text the next week. Edit: I am also removing tier indicators from events that have been completed. Edit #2: You know how Barry was saying that he found it ironic that he was the standard and was struggling, a few months ago? He's in first by about 40 points right now. Then again, 7 players are within 100 points. The real irony is who's currently in last. Hint: the award for the top player after regionals are done is named for him. Then again, I've only done 3 events, and Buckeye isn't ready yet. |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
looks like before BuckEYE results, i have 437 - i can say im pleased, even though my awesome 3 NJ picks were ranked low (25,1676,522...who saw that coming...i guess EricH :D)
|
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
Update: Pre-OKC and Buckeye scoring, Vikesrock is in the lead by almost 100 points over Barry, who has another 100 points on me, and after that, it gets into a battleground with Alex in 4th and Ed in 5th.
I have asked CDers for help on the Buckeye Saturday awards, as well as the team of the OKC WFFA winner. I expect to finish either later tonight (much later) or sometime tomorrow. Edit: I've gotten a fair piece into the Buckeye scoring. About the only thing I have left is the awards. That could take a while. I won't finish scoring until I have all the data... Worst comes to worst, I release the scoring sheet missing 2 events, which are either added later or ignored. |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
I'm sitting at 448 before the Buckeye scores. Hopefully consistent scores keep me in this. I'm happy about having my team for Wisconsin in week 3. I just wish I had my team for Midwest. Oh well

250 points back after week one, getting nothing from OKC and getting a lot less than expected from NJ and KC I am feeling fairly confident. I am extremely impressed by Vikesrock throwing 773 on the board after week 1. I am sure everyone will be playing catchup all season.

I'm not particularly confidant about my picks for next week so we'll see how it goes. |

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
The teams scoring sheet has been updated to include NYC.
http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/papers/2219 EDIT: Sorry to say Barry that NYC erased any gains you made this week and I'm now ahead of you by more than I was last week |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
I appreciate everyone's effort in scoring, I have been mad busy lately. I'm surprised I am closing the gap instead of widening it, I feel like I've had some regionals where all three of my picks didn't even make it in eliminations.
I'm betting Vikerock's name will be on the Elgin Clock Award this year, he is putting more effort into updating his pick list week to week. |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
I'm still scoring Week 2 (having a long competition with no time to spare will do that to you), but I am going to post the Week 3 issues list. And it's a large one...
SamSofa330, SVR 3rd pick Michelle Celio, LA 2nd pick, Pittsburgh & SVR 3rd picks, Israel 2nd pick Elgin Clock, Dallas all picks, Florida 2nd pick Liz Smith, Dallas 1st pick, LA 2nd pick Arefin Bari, Florida 1st pick, Peachtree 3rd pick Nawaid Ladak, Dallas & Florida 3rd picks Once again, if you haven't picked a replacement for a missing team, one will be chosen for you from the random list. |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
In conjunction with my Java OPR GUI, I'm going to work on an automated scoring mechanism for FF. (Man I love OOD) I should be able to test it by Week 6, so maybe we can automate it via Twitter or CD-Spy when the Championships arrive.

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

Just to be clear, I'm scoring the participants, not the teams. I have 3 events left for the week; next week's should be faster. |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
I was looking through the FF pick sheet and realized that I have 2520 for both the Hawaii and Vegas regionals in the same week. Now I would be thoroughly impressed if they could do that, however.. I think there was just a clerical error along the way, I should have 2443 for Hawaii instead of 2520. So if that could be fixed on whatever master sheet there is, that'd be awesome.
|
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
Good catch, Greg.
I'll have the current sheet up shortly, soon as I check on a couple of teams and make corrections as needed. Also: The scoring sheet that Vikesrock posted is incorrect for the Oregon regional seeding points. To fix: Select the entire sheet and sort by seed, lowest to highest. Then apply the following points: 20 for the 1st seed 12 for 2nd and 3rd 6 for the rest of the top 8 3 for 9th -12th 2 for 13th-16th 0 for everybody else. This is the only problem I've seen so far, and it looks like a simple mis-selection somewhere in the sorting process. |
Week 2 SCORES
Full details are in the same place as last time. Breaking news is, it looks like Barry is now in the lead by 18 points over Vikesrock.

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

Locking notice
I guess it's that time of week again...
Consider Week 4 locked for trading. At this point, only random teams will be assigned for any Week 4 events (and Israel). And for Week 5 the following should probably trade some teams: SamC (formerly SamSofa330), GTR 1st rocketperson44, Vegas 1st NickE, Palmetto 1st Michelle Celio, Palmetto 1st Liz Smith, Lone Star 1st Indysam, Palmetto 2nd 340x4xLife, Lone Star 1st Nawaid Ladak, Palmetto 1st As a reminder, the MI State Championship draft will be the Wednesday before Week 6, and drafts will lock shortly after it finishes. |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
I've got Israel teams scored up for the robot stuff, once the awards get posted either on FIRST's site or CD I can get the sheet updated.
|
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
The awards are now up...
|
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
Israel has been scored; the scores will be with the sheet.
However, Barry didn't build up a big enough lead; the top 5 are now: Vikesrock, 1761 Barry, 1729 Tottanka, 1641 Jack, 1514 Alex, 1375 Tottanka's home-field advantage paid off this year, as he got the second-highest score for Israel... (Last year, it didn't.) |
Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF
The sheet for week 4 is now up with a few missing awards.
Chesapeake: WFFA team missing Boilermaker: Imagery assumed to be 1501 not 1510, not sure who Delphi Technology is supposed to be as the team listed did not attend. Arizona: WFFA team missing Bayou: WFFA team missing Oh, and Barry smoked me in regionals this week with 737 to my 418. I beat him by 192 in the 2 districts to put me down just short of 100 heading into the last big week :( |
