You know what's really funny, hill? You and JackN had the same Arizona alliance, down to the order. I think that's the first time this has happened...

I guess I'd better get busy finding somebody in Michigan who knows whos who @ the championship event. Because who knows if FIRST will fix the page in time if at all.

Yeah... I'm planning to release the draft orders for the MI championship on Wednesday, once the lists for Week 5 are locked, so folks can plan for their drafting.

If we can't find out who's actually there then there's gonna be a problem.
I just need to figure out who actually has access to the list.

Current high score

The current high score for the year is 217, held by Oris in Waterloo. Alliance: 2056, 3040, 2609. (2 winners, 3 technical awards, the top 2 seeds, and Rookie Inspiration, plus a high score that was shared)

The standings and won/loss records on the FIRST website for Purdue are incorrect. All teams played 11 matches. Six teams are listed as playing 11.

Where would we be able to find correct data (and the real winner of the Driving Tomorrow's Technology Award)?

Edit: Don't you mean that 6 teams are listed as playing 10 matches? And if they were the ones in the match right before the breaker tripped, we should be able to forgive that.

Edit 2: There was an error in the STL sheet; 2775 was the RAS and highest rookie seed, not 3000. This is being dealt with in scoring.

EricH 22-03-2009 18:37

Scoring...

I'm at a standstill right now on the scoring. With the missing Bayou WFFA and the wrong team (one that isn't there) getting the BMR Technology, I'm reluctant to proceed until those are found. If any players were at the events mentioned or watching them on the web, and can remember the recipients and teams, please post here.

Top 5 are currently:

Barry, 2364
Vikesrock, 2297
JackN, 2021
Oris, 1996
Tottanka, 1913

All without BMR or Bayou, so take that as you will.

No 6 teams are listed as only playing 10 matches. Everyone played 11, with the exception of the couple of teams that were surrogate in the third round.

They were not in that match, that was match 40. The weird thing is 5 out of the 6 were in the same match together, match 61.

Eh, that's what I meant. I'm not sure why the info is the way it is, but the fact that 5 of the 6 were in one match... I wonder if that one was replayed. The other one was in the match before.

I looked at the teams, and the results are surprising. Apparently, one match was not counted for each team--one of them has 12 matches (1 surrogate). I'll check that manually and give the right score for qual matches.

And, do you know who really won the Driving Tomorrow's Technology Award? It was not 2393, as they weren't even there.

Though it would help to know who the surrogate teams were, first.

Vikes is still too close for comfort. I'm expecting to have a pretty bad day with my GTR picks. Man, even if I do come in first, this year I have no clue who my first round pick in Atlanta will be, I have a list of teams I like that all seem pretty even, and we keep seeing juggernauts fall to cinderellas.

Yeah, match 40 was the one that the power died in. That match was played twice and the robots were on the field for the match 3x. :P

EricH 22-03-2009 23:34

Scoring update

I'm still waiting on the Boilermaker Delphi Driving Tomorrow's Technology Award. The listed team only attended Peachtree, so they are not the team that should get the points. If you know who got the award, please post here or PM me! I will not finish scoring until that award is in, unless we absolutely have to in order to finish on time.

Bayou WFFA is team 1912.

Top 5 are the same as last time.

They are a bunch of robots that control humans in their underwater game. Their season begins in the summer underwater, and end the season in early January with the robots disassembling themselves and neatly packing the parts in blue and red bins.

I wish I had the results yet.

ANYONE who was at BMR, could you find out who really got the Delphi award?

The main people I find that are still on and shouldn't be when looking for good trades are jtdowney and Stephi Rae. I think the main reason is that we were all too lazy to go through and remove them from all the tiers.

EricH 24-03-2009 15:56

Scoring, etc.

Ok, so here's the deal:

BMR Technology is team 393.

Scores are in the usual place.

The following need to check the spreadsheet, as they are missing teams.
SamSofa330
rocketperson44
NickE
Michelle Celio
Alex Cormier
Liz Smith
Indysam
340x4xLife
Nawaid Ladak

The Michigan draft orders will go up shortly after the Week 5 lists are locked. Drafting can start as soon as team lists are published, although the draft officially doesn't start until 7PM EST Wednesday.

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for: The weekly scores.

Ed the registration for the state championship will not be open until after this week. There won't be a team list until next Tuesday at the earliest. If you look at the Top 62 in points on the firstinmichigan.org website you will get a pretty good idea of the team list.

Well they are a solid veteran team who is a good bet to be in the elims if for nothing else due to name recognition. I'd go for them.

JesseK also needs to replace a team. 2032 is no longer attending Hawaii.

Edit: And neither is 1702, so Kristian Calhoun also needs a new team.

EricH 26-03-2009 00:23

Lock the door and throw away the key...

That's right, this is your notice that all Week 5 drafts are locked.

Week 6 replacement list:
rocketperson44, North Star, double picked second team

The MI State Championship draft will be at 7:00 PM Eastern time on Wednesday. Drafts will lock at the normal time, so draft wisely! To make things more devious, the random list will be the team list, running from the teams with the fewest FiM points up to the ones with the most. (Yes, I'm that mean. This is also training for the Championship draft.)

I saw which team got HI, but I can't remember. It's one of the 2-3 year teams. I'll pick on some folks to get the info.

I just caught and corrected an error with 2122 and 692 at Sacramento. Both should be listed as finalists as 2122 was a backup bot, I also corrected both records to reflect the matches they played in only.

EDIT: Similar error just corrected for 3095 at Troy

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

With Michigan districts and Regionals, looks like I got around 879 for the week.

I do need a random for Connecticut since I switched one of my teams for 1796 and then 1796 didn't go. Also for Sacramento, it's weird because 1510 was registered for it, but apparently at one point they switched and went to Seattle instead.. so it was never caught before the regional. So it looks like NickE and I both have that problem and will need randoms for that too.

Disregarding that looks like I averaged 73 points per regional/district this week, which is exactly what I averaged last week.

FYI...the rankings for Michigan state are up here, the top 64 teams have until noon on monday to enter. After that, I believe that the spots are opened to the next ranked teams on the list. As teams sign up, they are added here.

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

Hawaii WFFA goes to 2090. Davis WFFA goes to team 100. Will try to get Vegas today. Toronto had their web service go down, so they couldn't post updates. I'll wait on that.

Lists for the MI championship will now be accepted; I've already had a couple of picks come in via Gameday for Tier 2. Remember, the more lists, the faster the draft moves and the more time we have to fix errors. (Not that there's a lot in the first place...)

With 4 events scored (I'm also trying to do homework...), it looks like several players are making their moves. Greg Peshek is, Pat McCarthy is, I've got 818, and Vikesrock delivered a hard hit to Barry's lead and is currently well over 100 points in the lead. Oris, Sunbun, and Jherbie53 are also starting to look pretty dangerous this week, as is Ed. Plus, the Toronto 2nd day awards still aren't up, so there's several points left on the table for now.

Scores

Week 5 scores have been tabulated, and there are some big movers this week. Big news is that Barry's out of first by about 108 points, but it's going to be hard for anyone else to catch up as third is over 300 points behind.

Week 6: no known draft issues, other than the MI draft Wednesday night, 7:00 PM. Some picks have already come in; the list should be firmed up tonight. We will use the Wednesday list during drafting; random list is the list by points, lowest to highest.

And the Week 5 scores:

Eric use the week five standings for the draft orders for the leagues.
It looks like there are going to have to be two leagues. the draft orders should fall to where each member of each league are in the standings.

For what Ed? How about have all the even numbers in one league and odd in another? Splits it up more fairly?

Didn't he already post the draft orders here and here?

I made the leagues (already up) with the Week 4 standings. Top 13 in one, bottom 13 in the other. I can redo it, but I'm lazy, so I'd probably just figure out who moved, and then swap them. They're random right now, but that can be fixed...

I say leave the drafts like they are. It's been posted for awhile now and it'll make things worse if we change them now.

That's fine.

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

OK, the only fixes being made are: if you were in the top 13 and dropped, you'll now be in Tier 2, and vice versa. I will also add the current team list, for reference.

This means that the only switch is that Liz Smith and myself are trading tiers and places. This will be reflected in the threads.

I'm happy with my jump from 11th to 7th in one week. Hopefully I can get another spot or two further with week 6. I'm going to need some really good picks for the Michigan Championship.

Vikesrock 31-03-2009 18:10

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

The MI Championship list now contains 64 teams so it should be all set to go.

EricH 31-03-2009 18:14

Re: [FF]: 2009 Season Long FF

Yep, I'll be posting the random list sometime tomorrow. Though if you have the MI ranking, you can figure it out...

Again, the draft starts tomorrow at 7:00 PM Eastern, but you can draft as soon as your slot is open (i.e., now, if you're JackN or NickE). Lists are being accepted.

And, rocketperson still needs to fill that one slot in North Star--picking a picked team to fill a double-picked slot doesn't work very well.

EricH 01-04-2009 17:36

Random list... Or is it

Here's your random list. The observant will note: 67 and 469 are missing and the list is the team list in reverse order of points. The former is because they have already been claimed in both tiers... The latter, draw your own conclusions.

I'm going to go ahead and lock all the tiers for Week 6. MI State draft turnout was great; in fact, Tier 1 didn't end up with a single random pick due to the few randoms being quickly replaced (first time that's happened...).

Scores should be up pretty quickly this week; when they are released, you will know the Championship draft order. Good luck!

Oh, and the week 7 issues list is:

It's still April 1 where I am.

Highlight to see

This weeks scores may or may not be up fast unless someone else wants to score the teams. It all depends on how much energy I have left when I get back from our event. I guess there are only 3 events to do though...

Error in the sheet: No WFFA winner is listed for the MI state championship. That belongs to team 503, Frog Force, and will be applied during scoring. (The team is listed, but oddly.)

Yep. If you look at last year's Season Long, we only did three. The primary reason was that we couldn't get the league scored fast enough to do four.

This is the only draft that will not be split into tiers. 340/4= 85, and we've only got 26 players in the league.

I thought the jersey went to the overall winner or the winner of the Championship event.

You could always ship the jersey, Ed.

No jersey.
Trophies now.
Barry has his Elgin Clock awards and I give a trophy to the MVP and to the Rookie of the year.
Still have to give Barry his championship trophy.

I value my Elgin Clock, I actually just hung it up on my wall this weekend beneath a couple other awards I've won in the past few years. Its been on display for a year, I'm glad to finally have found a nail and some time.

Ed, If you want I think it'd be cool to turn the trophy into a clock made by the Elgin company. I remember finding a broken one on ebay last year for about 5 dollars. I'd be happy to put up the money to do this if you haven't already made Kevin's trophy.

They appear to come in pocket watches and full size
